Agreed on the Jim Gaffigan and Lewis Black. I'll add on Happy Cole, Jeremy Hotz, Mitch Hedberg, and Maria Bamford.

Jim Gaffigan yes, he's uniquely insane. Also Stephen Lynch.

In no particular order; Richard Pryor, Lewis Black, Eddie Izzard, Robin Williams, Dave Chapelle and Eddie Murphy in Raw and Delirious, before he started making bad movies.

Mitch Hedberg and Mitch Fatel are probably my favorites at the moment, but I have enjoyed MANY stand up comedians in my lifetime. Sadly though, I've never seen one live.

Got to see Gallagher in concert once... I like his stand-up quite a bit actually, entirely aside from the gimmicks. But he's never forefront on my mind... just because he hasn't been terribly popular in many years.

John Pinette. He's funny and original without being dirty. I really like comedians who take plain old reality but skew it so you see it from a different perspective. I never liked the potty-mouthed ones.

A boyfriend took me to a comedy club once, and the headliner (a well-known comedian whose name I have blessedly forgotten) didn't have a single joke that wasn't about sex or feces. I actually have referred to him ever since as "Mr. Sex & s**t", hence my forgetting his real name. This was an audience of people in their 20's (back in the mid 80's when this happened), not a roomful of old ladies in a nursing home! Who in their 20's would titter nervously at the mention of sex or s**t? You heard that language on the playground even then! ("Get off the f**king swing!" and such.)

not entirely in any order but I'd say George carlin, sam kinneson, eddie izzard, jim gaffigan, daniel tosh, lewis black, chris rock(early acts), jerry seinfeld, tim allen(back in the day at least), and dennis leary before he wrote that last book. Im an as*hole too but I wouldnt say a bunch of kids are faking autism due to bad parenting(yes, Im paraphrasing).

I like Ellen Degeneres. I used to like Eddie Murphy, when I was younger.

Andrew Dice Clay I'm guessing. I've never been bothered by swearing... my problem with Clay was that his act was unimaginative and not funny.

Hickory dickory dock, dis chick was suckin' my c*ck? No, I'd have refused to go see that piece of trash. You're right, though, he also is all sex and sh*t. But this was a different unimaginative, unfunny nitwit. Thanks, though, for trying to help :D

Back in the 80's radio stations would play clips of comedy albums during the morning show so I had already heard all this guy's jokes. My boyfriend, however, had not heard "I slept with a bag lady and woke up with paper cuts", even though I had heard it years before. Maybe that joke will identify him, although it doesn't matter who he was since I imagine he's dead by now. Anybody who would spead years putting no effort into his livlihood probably had a drug or alcohol problem keeping him from caring about his work.
