Everyone should know this anime with no problems.
It reminds me of Rurouni Kenshin. The later clip being I believe Sanosuke Sagara.

I think that some of the worst have lost there way, most of us start off with things like bugs bunny and stuff, and the image we might have originaly is that anime is weired and might not want to go near it. And that is why dubs are made, so that anime can spread out and more can enjoy it. I started out by watching the dubs as a kid that apeared on morning tv like pokemon, DBZ, Card Captors, Zoids and Yugioh, I thought the shows were alright, I hear a lot about how things are changed in some of these, but this is because otherwise it woud scare kids away from it, and older people might have a bad idea already of it. Now last year I got to watch some episodes of Naruto that whent beyond the first season which is all that is shon on morning tv, seeing that anime can be a bit more serous I decided to go search for anime on the internet I had got that year. First series I chose was Death Note, subs still being a bit scarey I of course chose dubs, and found it good, and whent through watching a bunch of dubs that are going at the moment like Naruto, Bleach and Code Geass. I started to want to be a bit more advenetures, but atching the subs of anime I have watched or watching didn't seem right, and I started on the anime Zero no tsukaima, which opened me up to lots of new things, and moved on to things like Rosario+Vampire. I started watching in subs, though I did decide to revert for some like Lucky Star or FMA, and enjoy them in dub, though others might say otherwise. I see why many say that dubs suck, they have a different feel from the original, and some it feels like they get the voices wrong totaly turning a playboy character for instance into a character that sounds like a beatnick or like James from Pokemon. But these dubs and are just so more people can enjoy the anime, and those dub fans are still fans, some might be just getting in, some might like being where they are, but there is no reason for scareing them away because they are not as big as you, or insulting the show (dub version) that they like.

Not sure who as yet. I'd love to go as Rock Lee or Gai for fun, but I know I'll look really silly in green spandex.
I watch tons of anime and read a fair amount of manga, but I avoid associating with other so-called otaku. The roleplaying, fanfic, yaoi, cosplay, attaching -chan and crap to a pseudo-Japanese nickname, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bleach, Gundam...I just don't get it, and I'm someone who started watching this stuff when you had to choose between the dubbed VHS tape or the more expensive subtitled VHS tape. Actually, this entire thread is full of the kind of fans I go out of my way to avoid.
I first started watching subbed world cinema many moons ago, and then came across anime in the early 90's called Akira. . I made a natural progression, and watched many anime and reada the manga untill I became up to date - through from ghost in the shell to most recently deathnote ( which I loved in manga and anime but hated in film ) However, just because I have been seasoned in many older anime does not mean I do not appreciate the anime of today.
Naruto IS manga, it has been released as manga, and manga is an art form. It went on to be released as Anime of which I enjoy too.
I have never done cosplay before or even been to a convention ( I only heard of it through this site) but it looks and sounds like fun, and I shall be doing this in May. I am an obsessed anime fan, and I don't understand why people hate cosplay and fanfiction so much? Can anyone explain?

I never said anything about disliking modern anime. I pointed out "the old days" because back then, talking about anime didn't degenerate into discussions about slash fiction or dressing up like characters, or leading people to believe that I'm a 28-year-old man who watches Pokemon and Naruto. If I went to the bookstore, it didn't mean navigating through a dozen kids sitting on the floor of the aisle.
If it helps clarify where I'm coming from, I watch stuff like Ghost in the Shell, Texhnolyze, Gantz, Serial Experiments Lain, Gunslinger Girl, Noir, Elfen Lied, Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Samurai Champloo, Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, Basilisk, Tsukihime, Ergo Proxy, Full Metal Panic!, Gilgamesh, Madlax, Requiem from the Darkness, Speed Grapher, and anything Satoshi Kon so much as breathes on. Surprisingly, I also like Get Backers and Chobits, even though they're somewhat at odds with my usual tastes. Manga-wise, I'm mostly into Blade of the Immortal and Ghost in the Shell, but I'm slowly trying stuff like Gantz, Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, Parasyte, Remote, and trying to figure out if I still like Battle Angel Alita as an adult.
