This has to be my favorite cartoon of all time. at least outside of when I was really young. I never like the spinoffs. I suppose Batman: Beyond isn't bad though.

God I wish they'd bring it back. The movies were good as well.

I used to watch it many years ago. It was actually a pretty decent show, especially for a "Saturday morning cartoon." The stories were true to the original vision of Batman (not the "campy" 60's Batman), the animation was top-notch, and they had a very talented voice cast, particularly Kevin Conroy (Batman), Mark Hamill (The Joker) and Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (Alfred.)

Almost every day when I was a wee lad. Less frequently since then.
Great show.

Harley was such a popular character on the series that she made it into the actual comic. Paul Dini (the creator) has gone on to do a lot of great stuff in comics and he was even a writer on Lost for awhile.

Another fun fact: The shows animated on black backgrounds as apposed to the normal white to give it a darker look. :)

Yes, I did. My favorite evil characters were Mr. Freeze, The Joker, and The Scarecrow.

I'm only about halfway through the series because I only started watching it recently and my computer bandwidth is terrible. But I love it.

Yeah when I was younger, and I just recently watched them as an adult, and it had a lot of mature themes for a kids show. Volume 3 is a little slow at first, but I owe all three of the volumes.

I LOVE that show. Bruce Timm is a god. I love his style of character design, it's very 1940s film noir and 1950s pinup but so timeless.

I LOVE how Poison Ivy looks like Rita Hayworth. Harley and the Joker will always be my favorites, ever.

Character designs today are too cluttered.
"Batman Beyond" was just barely tolerable because Timm was still involved, but modern crap like "The Batman" and "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" is hideous to me.

The series came out just after the Tim Burton movie, so that had a lot of influence. I think the theme song was taken from the movie, too (written by Danny Elfman, who I haven't heard from in a long time). I really enjoyed the depth of character they gave the villains; I genuinely felt sorry for characters like Mr. Freeze and Two-Face, because of the tragic nature of their origin stories. I also liked the soft-spoken version of this show's Riddler to the cackling Frank Gorshin version from the '60s.

Speaking of the '60s, one of my favourite episodes is the one where Adam West guest stars as a washed-up TV superhero from the '60s, who helps Batman with a case.

... plus the ladies were HOT (or they were until someone changed them).
