Adam Sandler films. The truth is his movies are god-awful from the terrible writing to the bad acting but I still can't help but enjoy them anyways. They are the kind of crap that's funny crap, or it's so bad that it's funny kind of crap. Plus they always give me laughs from the pathetic sexual innuendos to the very very predictable, he gets the girl at the end crap. How many Sandler movies end with him kissing the girl at the end? Here's the answer, all of them.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Pirates of the Caribbean. I think I'm a bit too old to openly admit that I obsess over them.

I was thinking of this thread today as I bought a cheap copy of Kate and Leopold. Now THAT qualifies. I like the stupid thing, so help me, even though it's got absolutely nothing fresh that isn't thoroughly disquieting (in the director's cut, anyhow) and fails time and again on the science fiction points of the story, even though it has Meg Ryan... Maybe I just like Hugh Jackman that much, maybe my standards aren't that high for science fiction... y'know, that delicate line it must walk between the plausible but not yet possible and the impossible, implausible and bloody ridiculous.

I agree about Adam Sandler films. I haven't watched many, but I was amazed at how likable he is when he isn't doing silly voices or being so thoroughly amused at himself. He has a couple where he just plays a regular guy, his way, and he can actually be funny. Not always, but he can, as well as sweet. He was the nicest guy in "The Wedding Singer". What I have liked about those of his films that I've seen is that you can tell that he likes old movies, that the films he's been in, in many cases, reflect the old-fashioned comedies in those predictable happy endings. I guess I'll never be a true artist because I never get tired of things coming out all right in the end... and my writing shows that.

Mind you, what I don't like is when Sandler is in a movie remake of a film that was done much better before... and ruins it. But I can certainly see why he tries. He's Hollywood's well-meaning idiot boy...

Old Disney cartoons. Not just out of nostalgia, I genuinely enjoy watching them. (except for Bambi)

Edit: Oh and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. There's so much wrong with it, but I have a good time every time I see it.

I'll add Robin Hood: Men In Tights to this list. Even if it did have Dave Chappelle in it 10 years before the Chappelle Show started.

You read the book first and still like it? 8O Only movie so far listed that I would think as such.

For me, Zardoz.

Anything that involves Tinkerbell the fairy, I guess this would include Peter Pan.

That's another one for me.

Competition cheerleading is definitely a sport. Not the football/basketball sideline cheering, though.

Percy, a movie about a man, who gets a penis transplant. The movie has a great soundtrack, though.

Toy Story and Toy Story 2. I liked those films ever since I was 3.

Grandma's Boy. Lotsa potty humor, but I can't help laughing at it.

So it's safe to say you aren't referring to the silent film by Harold Lloyd?
