Hey folks! It's been a while since I started a thread, but I thought tonight would be a good time to finally talk about this...

You see...on the 2nd of January this year, I watched the first posting of the Tennant-Smith regeneration on Youtube, and feeling very happy about it...and about an hour later...

...this clip, which I'd long forgotten about for 2 decades, came back to me...and I think you'll understand why... ^_^

(apologies for the audio giving out in the last few seconds)

Yep, that's right...for every number counted, I made an image association with the appropriate Doctor to match. Pretty cool, huh? And here's a little known fact: Henson himself animated this clip!

Well, watch and enjoy, and feel free to leave comments. ^_^

Anyone remember a really weird 11 sketch on Sesame Street which I will describe?
It seems to be something proto-archetypical (or I can't find the right word to say,
having an undescribable mysteriousness that seems like something one is born
knowing, or something like that? Also, I think I've seen this effect elsewhere once
so like in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, it JUST MEANS SOMETHING!

OK, the sesame street sketch was two people behind baskets with long straight
horn instruments, and behind them was like jungle. Then they started playing
the horns and the ones that make the 11 started coming out of the baskets
one at a time and wiggling (a scanimate effect) anyway the ones were in place
of snakes being charmed, and when both ones were out of their baskets they
were charmed together to make an 11 which moved I think to the top of the
TV screen and then there was Sitar music I think, and the people with the horns
and the jungle behind them turned into a mural painting on a wall, and were
obviously not people anymore but a painting. I now know how that effect is
done but I wonder why, in at least two places including sesame street, people
were ... I forgot to mention I think they were sitting like Buddahs ... and there
was horn and sitar music and the people became part of the background.

For all I know that hasn't been shown since the 1970s but I don't know.
Does anyone have any idea what it means, the idea of people and that
music, and the people becoming part of the plants and stuff in the background
like a painting? Maybe its not supposed to be like a painting. Maybe its the
concept of being very quiet with nature until you meditate into being in
nature (or "becoming one with nature"). Any ideas. Sorry, I immediately
remembered that when I saw the title including 11 and Sesame Street.
Maybe its a concept in some India religion, I don't know... one of those
unanswered questions in my life that means more than it should because
the memory of it was so mystical.

To LabPet - glad this video made your day. ^_^

To ValMikeSmith - sadly, I don't seem to recall that specific '11' segment. I tried to look for more 11-themed Sesame Street cartoons, but none matched your descriptions. I'm so sorry. :(

Hehe, funny you should mention that, GriffinGuitar, because I thought the same thing too! I mean, how CAN you watch this, and not think of James Brown? Heh, I keep expecting his voice to pop and say either "AOW" or "HIT ME" every other number, lol.

Glad you enjoyed it. ^_^

This is my favourite one. It is in a link because I still suck at putting videos up.

And yes, that is indeed a family guy spoof sitting alongside the original!

The Yip Yips find a radio on Sesame St. Love these guys since they remind me of us (Aspies) :alien:

ValMikeSmith, seems like a great classic Sesame St - wish we could find that one (I did check, to no avail).
