My favorite episode would have to be the one where his car wouldn't start and he gets a tree branch and beats his car with it.

Fawlty Towers...

got to be the funniest thing ever on British TV.

The best episode got to be the "Germans" but non of the others are far behind.

And remember "Do not mention the war!! !"

Man - Duck with orange...Duck with cherries...Duck surprise? What's that?
Basil - Duck without orange or cherries.
Man - What if you don't like duck?!
Basil - Then you're rather stuck.

1.The fire alarm had to been done then, couldn't be shifted a few minutes either way.
2.Like a lot of aspies, has empathy of sorts for inantimate objects. The eposide where he gave his car a good trashing with a branch springs to mind. ((Weak pun intended.))
3.Tries so hard but keeps saying the wrong thing and ends up putting his foot in it. German eposide.

Gets fustrated when routine is interrupted.

He puts his foot in it on a lot of occasions.

Fawlty Towers is one of my favorite series too. I have all 12 episodes on DVD and watch them regularly too. I still laugh no matter how many times I see them.

It is actually well known in the U.S. because it has shown on PBS stations many times over the years. There have been two attempts to clone it by U.S. TV networks, both of which failed miserably.

The first version, Amanda's, which I think aired in the late 1970's, featured Beatrice Arthur as the Basil Fawlty character. The most recent version, Payne, featured John Laroquette as the Basil Fawlty equivalent and aired a few years ago. Needless to say, it was pretty bad too. American attempts to clone British TV shows don't always work well, with few exceptions.

Well, that's comforting. I don't think Basil is an Aspie, I think he's just a b*****d.

I love Fawlty Towers!

Was amazed when I heard there were only 12 episodes.
