This was a movie that I was looking forward to for quite sometime. I love action movies more than any other kind of movie out there, so hearing that Sylvester Stallone was going to make one in the vein of the old school 80s style action flick, I was really hoping that he would deliver.

And he didn't disappoint.

This movie is awesome. I haven't had this much fun at a movie in quite sometime. The action scenes were over the top and great, even though I wish the movie didn't have so much shaky cam, but it wasn't too bad. Stallone and the rest of the cast were fun to watch, though I wish Terry Crews had a bigger part, which is really my only complaint that I had about this movie, but still it didn't take away too much from the movie.

I consider the movie to be a bit of a breath of fresh air, since this day and age, I feel that action movies take themselves way too seriously. We have so many action movies that have a grim, bleak tone, and make attempts to be realistic (Even though they aren't really all that realistic anyways), that honestly, I'm kind of getting tired of it. That's what I love about The Expendables. It's not trying to be realistic depiction of combat and war, or anything like that. It knows it's place, and in doing that, delivers some old fashion fun.

Thanks, I was wondering about that.
