BTAS was a HUGE mainstay during my pre-teen days, the Dark Deco art design, the talented voice cast (Conroy, Hamill, Perlman, Hershing, Zsundzsa) and Paul Dini writing some decent episodes = Classic.

I don't mind The Brave and the Bold...but dammit, the original animated series just struck gold in so many ways:

-Great voice actors (Kevin Conroy, Mark Hammill, Jeffrey Combs)
-great story writing that was true to the comics in many ways
-wasn't afraid to be gritty, dark and in some ways quite adult for a kids show.

That, and TAS gave us Harley Quinn. Need I say more?

I love the DC Animated Universe in general. Batman: The Animated Series is the best version of Batman to have ever been, as far as I'm concerned.

Harley Quinn is the most famous example of a character that began with TAS, but they also created Nora Fries, Renee Montoya, Lock-Up, Sewer King, and Roxy Rocket. They also reworked several villains, such as changing Mr. Freeze from a basic theme bank robber type to a tragic character. They also united all these different Clayface characters into an interesting one, and made Man-Bat's origin unique instead of an obvious ripoff of Spider-Man's Dr. Kurt Connors.

The film-style format of Batman: The Animated Series was especially unique, while most television at the time was pretty hodge-podge and never seemed to have any *real* conclusions to storylines. There are just a lot of reasons why I honestly think it's the best thing to ever grace my television screen.

I prefer what Grant Morrison did with Bat Mite in Batman R.I.P.

BTAS IS AMAzing! I loved the writing in the premiere seasons, some of the best ever, with a few Gargoyles Episodes a close second :) javascript:emoticon(':)')

I never watched Brave and the Bold, but what I've seen of it I wouldn't like it.

This is my favorite show to this day. Great characters, clever writing, awesome art, what more could you want. This show is awesome. I only wish it had lasted longer so some more questions about the characters could be answered.

BTAS is just a brilliant show. Great writing, art, voice acting and overall direction. Watched it when I was young, and still watch it to this day. :D

My favorite character was Catwoman. Everyone would say no surprise there. I usually say I'm a crazy cat lady in training. I'm just not a crazy cat lady, well, because they're usually older, I guess. Still, I wish the other characters were particularly harsh on her. Really, someone who cares about wildlife and especially cats can't be all bad, can they? I like the episode where she steals from this cult. I would have joined at once if I were in her shoes. One thing I never understood, though, is how on Earth did he know who she was just by a cat hair? I mean, I know that many kitties have solved crimes by their owners leaving cat hairs, but how do you know which cat it came from? You'd have to do a DNA test and all that to see if it's the same cat. She had a black cat. There are many black cats. My cat's coat color is blue, but I've seen one or two neighborhood cats with the same color. If I were to find a silvery blue cat hair, say on the porch, how to do I know if it's hers or one of the stray's?

Still, other than that she wasn't in it, I like Beyond. I just think Terry was just better. He just seems a little more...normal if you know what I mean.

The episode is called Beware of the Grey Ghost. It's a personal favourite of mine as well.

I love both TAS and the 60s TV show.
