I am a huge Joss Whedon fan. I fall in love with anything he creates or even works on. For those who do not know, he is the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly/Serenity.
Any other Aspies huge Whedon fans? The only Aspie I know in real life (girlfriends sister) is a huge fan as well. His use of wordplay and the way he makes many of his characters have an awkwardness to them drew me in.

I'm not obsessed, but I guess I'm a fan. I'll certainly give anything he's responsible for a chance.

I like Buffy and Firefly (although it took awhile to get into that one). His characters are unique; his sense of humor is subtle to slapstick, but always impeccable; and his creativity and instincts are way above the competition. I don't like all his characters, though--or the actors who play them, maybe. I can't stomach Angel, so I never watched that show, which is a shame, because some of the other characters on it are great. I may try it sometime and just try to ignore Angel, like I did in Buffy.

His commentaries on the DVDs are worth watching for themselves.

Firefly is sooooo awesome, i saw Serenity first as i missed Firefly first time round, but watched the repeats and they are brilliant, if only there were more, i really hope he gets to do more.

I only watched Angel for the first and some of the second series, it just wasn't as good without Doyle, he was the best character and they killed him off.

As for the Buffy, i watched all of it, i think, i was really shocked when she died as i thought it was over and i didn't want it to end, despite that i am glad they finished it when they did as it was getting a little dull. Those Gentlemen callers, can't remember if that's their name or not, still give me the creeps when i think about them.

Firefly is my favorite too. I wasn't too crazy about Buffy, though. But that's just because it isn't my style.

Firefly is the greatest show ever! I watch the episodes over and over. Serenity was excellent too, but I haven't seen Buffy or Angel yet.

I loved Serenity I loved the bigness of his world, it was soo complex. I think it was a great intro to the world of Whedon. I'll check out some more of his stuff.

Firefly for sure (I've hosted a couple Firefly parties) but I think we're also forgetting that he wrote for Astonishing X-Men as well...unless this thread is purely cinema/TV.

I loved Firefly, and the Serenity movie... I wish they would make another movie.

I couldn't get into Buffy or Angel.

Firefly was an original, creative and most of all, a thoroughly entertaining show. Too bad it got yanked because of low ratings. At least Joss got the rare opportunity to get major motion picture out of it to tie up loose ends.

I could never get into Buffy or Angel.

He also wrote( or directed) an Alien sequel, in which Sigourney Weaver is reincarnated. I didn't like that sequel. They should have stopped at Aliens.

Lets not forget, the first draft of X-men then movie, Toy Story 1 and Rosanne.
(okay maybe forget the last two, oh well everyone got to start somewhere!)

It kills me that he won't be doing Wonderwoman, I'm totally paranoid that the delibrately hired him to not let him do the movie in the end, so that while he's working on Wonderwoman he wont be working on anything else. Well at least there's his new movie to look forward to. Since he's said that he's never doing tv again. Which is tv's loss, I mourn Intelligent tv, Lost takes the edge on, but no offense to Abrams but he's no Joss, even if he does tend to hire Whendons allumnis, Goddard, Fury, Fillion, Dae Kim, etc...it's like it's own convention!

Joss has got to be the King of Aspies though, his writing, his humour, just look at River, and Anya. OKay River you can explain away given that she was driven mad by her secret but in Flashbacks Anya was pretty much the same pre-demonisation!

Me too! Angel was always too bland and mopey, not as bad as Riley but still! Never thought we'd get a happy ending for those two, especially as he tried to "rape" her. Still he got his crumb in the end!
