I'd go with Cochran on this season's Survivor. At least mildly.

House is based on sherlock Holmes who, I believe is a high functioning sociopath, at least according to the british miniseries "Sherlock." Which would make Wilson Watson, and I'm pretty sure Watson was an aspie, so you could say Wilson is, not house. ha

I'm not sure about Adam sandler as a person, but his character in Punch Drunk Love has AS

And my theory, Steve Franks, creator of the tv show "psych"
He said his dad would teach him how to be a keen observer when he was a child, and I think the main character is sort of based on himself. Lots of signs that point to aspergers in pretty much all the characters IMO. Friggin hilarious show!

after doing some googling.. Shawn from psych falls in the same category as house reguarging shelock holmes! lol
which would mean Gus has AS.. sheesh

House has been discussed endlessly on these forums, and most of us seem to agree that he's not an Aspie at all.

I don't know if this was mentioned already but Abby from NCIS appears to be a Aspie to me.

Also bruh man from the sitcom "Martin" gives off aspie vibes as well.

1--Dr. Brennan from Bones, even though everyone already knows that. Also: almost certainly Zach, probably Colin and the young British kid that got killed by the sniper, possibly Jack Hodgins and Sweets. The only definitely non-Aspie characters on Bones would be Special Agent Booth, Wendell Bray, and Angela.

2--Definitely the Rowan Atkinson character Mr. Bean.

3--Probably Jamie Hyneman from Mythbusters.

4--Possibly Ruthie from Seventh Heaven.

5--Possibly Dr. House on House, even though the general consensus here is that he doesn't have it. Yes he has better social skills and is less naive than most ASD members but it is possible for (some of) us to figure out the ropes of socializing through intellect and sheer, raw determination.

6--Both Bonkers and Miranda on Bonkers. Miranda reminds me of Dr. Brennan, whereas Bonkers is much lower-functioning, possibly conventional autism. Possibly Lucky Piquel's daughter Marilyn. (Does anybody remember early-90's after-school Disneytoons?)

7--Both Pinky and the Brain, just different levels of function.

They covered this in Season 3, Episode 4, 'Lines in the Sand'. House treats a severely autistic boy and Wilson questions whether House has Aspergers, since:

- He thinks in an odd way and is obsessed with detail
- He offends people all the time
- He is very fixated on his cases and has difficulty with social relationships

However, Cuddy says that it is a nice idea, but House just /wishes/ he had Aspergers so he'd get away with being a jerk - he understands exactly what's wrong with what he's doing and does it anyway.

On the other hand, the way Benedict Cumberbatch portrays the modern day Sherlock Holmes could very easily show traits of Aspergers, even if he does think he's a high functioning sociopath. A lot of fanfic expands this idea. In one episode in particular, Sherlock can't understand why a woman would be upset about the death of her child ten years on and says so out loud, offending people in the room. He then turns to John (Watson) with a quizzical expression, asking if what he said was 'a bit not good', because he didn't really understand how what he'd said was wrong.

I think Sherlock, especially this incarnation, shows lots of Aspie traits, but his ability to read and understand expressions is beyond the average person with Aspergers. However, due to his incredibly high intelligence it's also possible to suggest that he merely learned these to help his cases, and they do not come to him naturally.

I didn't think he was mentioned searcing the site (I couldn't find a search on the particular thread) but...did anyone mention Derek Boyd, Michelle's friend on "Full House?"

1. Nasal-sounding voice, unusual tone is somewhat common.
2. Says he "tends to blend in with his surroundings," possibly social unease (though 1st graders aren't always really outgoing, it's true)
3. Very literal at least once that I remember - I think Michelle told him he had stage fright and Derek said, "How can you tell? You're not my therapist?" (So we know he has a therapist anyway, and it would make sense that he might think only his therapist would be able to know something like that.)
4. Vocabulary far above normal.

When I wrote the "Full House Chronology" (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/sho ... p?t=251455, also for download under Files at the yahoo group fullhousefreaks or fullhouse4life) I indicated that he had it; being a very minor character it's too hard to say for sure but i think it's quite possible.

House: Not an Aspie.

Arthur Conan Doyle's Holmes: Has some traits, but would never get a diagnosis.

Benedict Cumberbatch's Holmes: Aspie, or damn close to it.

I tend to rule out Hank Hill because he does a pretty good job of socializing and making/keeping friends. Dale, Boomhauer, etc.

I've thought about that one A LOT!! There are several others that I agree with on this list, but way too many to mention. I don't know if anyone else sees it, but he reminds me a lot of me... but Seth Cohen on The O.C. Especially with his lack of friends, obsession with Summer and comics, and talking to his horse figure, Captain Oats.
