a chance after getting it from my library queue.

This is one of the better remakes I've seen in a while,
the other two I'm thinking of right now are the remakes of
King Kong and 3:10 to Yuma.

Nah, the new Clash Of The Titans sucks Spartan balls, and no matter of rewatching that should-have-been an-abortion will change that fact.

Well Bill, that's my opinion & I'm sticking to it.

You're more than entitled to your opinion.
I do agree, though, the remake of 3:10 To Yuma was a great film.

There's a great remake somewhere in King Kong. Teach me how to use editing software and I'll extract it and give it to you.

Absolutely it was Bill. Have you ever tried to write a Western?

Actually, years ago when I was in my last year of college, I was working on a short story concerning turn-of-the century, Pacific Northwest outlaw Harry Tracy. I never finished it, in part because the only magazine buying Western fiction had apparently gone out of business.
Too bad, as being a life long native of Washington state, I grew up with stories my Dad had told me about Harry Tracy, who had died in a shootout maybe fifty miles away from the Spokane area.

Last night, I watched the final part of the Harry Potter saga. Having found the first part of 'The Deathly Hallows' quite dull, I really enjoyed the second part. I haven't read the books or any spoilers, so I didn't know how it would end. I wasn't disappointed.

Yesterday, my sister bought a cheap copy of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

We watched it and laughed our asses off.

Am I the only one here who thought Simon Pegg's Buck
had almost the same behaviors as Capt. Ahab from Moby Dick?

And yes, if you don't know already, Ice Age 4 will be
released in July of next year.

i saw "elmer gantry" [last watched it as a kid 4 decades back, on network tv which scissored an already heavily censored movie to shreds], then i watched "where the red fern grows." hard to believe that after all that was cut from the novel's translation into film, the catholic motion picture office ["legion of decency"] still gave it a B rating ["morally objectionable in part, adults only"]. it was only the third movie that the MPAA gave the "adult admission only" certificate [the other two were "forever amber" in 1947, and "miracle of morgan's creek" in 1943]. when i watched elmer gantry i saw my first anachronism- there was a 50s-model big american car driving from left to right in the extreme background of the screen [thank god for the DVD zoom function!] in the scene where elmer is walking along the railroad tracks into town. the movie "where the red fern grows" was one big anachronism, in terms of the 1970s haircuts all these supposed 1920s-era characters were sporting. interesting that both films were set in the 1920s, one urban and the other backwoods.
