Any adult who is against other adults watching kids movies is, in my opinion, a narrow-minded idiot. There are currently 15 movies that many consider to be kids films in the IMDB 250 (3 in the Top 100 alone) and the 2007 version of the AFI 100 list has four kids films, including one in the top 10.

Bottom line: if an adult doesn't want to watch a kids film, it should be for the same reasons they don't want to watch a film for grown ups. (bad writing, horrible acting, lame plot, etc.)

well I'm not ashamed of liking My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic! there's nothing wrong with liking cartoons or kid's movies. My grandad used to watch Disney and Warner Bros. cartoons all the time and he was in his eighties when he died- he loved Looney Tunes and Animaniacs!

Nothing is wrong with it. Kids movies can be HILARIOUS! Shrek is a great example, awesome movies.

A lot of movies I like are aimed at kids. I don't think there's anything wrong at all with adults watching kids' movies. Anyone who thinks otherwise is narrow-minded and doesn't know what they're missing :)

I guess if you regulate, it wouldn't be too bad to watch kid programs as an adult. I like to watch some mystery shows on ID, Law and Order: SVU, The Simpsons (preferrably the episodes until 1999), some Family Guy (if Seth behaves himself in them), Jeopardy!, Robot Chicken, America's Got Talent, and some religious programming.

However, I also enjoy some kid programs, too. In fact, my favorite television program right now, believe it or not, is The Legend of Korra.

Also, I used to enjoy Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Powerpuff Girls, Looney Tunes, Bobby's World, Dexter's Laboratory, and Dragon Ball Z. So, there...

Powerpuff Girls was a surprisingly good show, I watched it for a few years. It was my first taste of Lauren Faust, that woman is damn good at what she does.

Oops, I guess I missed the point on this topic a little bit. This is about movies, not television. Sorry...

Anyway, most of the films I watch are more family oriented anyway, so I guess there's nothing wrong with watching kid movies as an adult.

I knew some people in my life who judged me harshly for watching animated films or shows when I was a teenager (in particular, The Powerpuff Girls), but they are all gone out of my life now and everyone in my family doesn't seem to mind at this point. Still, I feel that same anxiety of someone looking over my shoulder when I'm looking up information on animated programs. However, I believe that this anxiety will fade in time.

I like kiddie movies because I can relate to them better. Kids live in the same magical world like I do.

I like, for example, the movie The secret garden.

Don't see it that way; my generation seems to hang on to their childhood longer than others, especially in these times, as an escape to their younger years.

They think it's creepy for a guy in his 20's or older to go see a kids movie in the theater full of five year olds.

I am a 33yo male who spent the last couple of hours watching Babar on Netflix. Yes, that's the late '80s kiddie animation show with the Elephant King. One of the ones that my mother would not let me watch because she thought I was too old for it.

Why shouldn't I? A show like that is far more intelligent than a lot of what is being marketed towards guys my age.

Exactly this.

When they talk that way to you, they're just admitting all the cool stuff they miss out on, and that they do it solely because they're afraid of what other people think.

How sad.

Looking at my desk, I actually have a DVD of Tale Spin in the stack of movies. It's definitely kids stuff, there are elements which are just plain stupid to adults. But there's also some really cool stuff; the art deco designs for one are incredibly imaginative, and the golden age of aviation stuff is really very cool. It harkens back to a time when we admired innovation and technology, instead of bitching because the innovators and inventors were more successful than we were.

But whatever. Like what you want to like, and don't lose sleep over what "sensible" old hags say in their rare bouts of depressed sobriety. They live empty lives.

It isnt bad at all. Absolutely noone gets hurt, when a grown up person is sitting in an cinema, watching a "kids movie" or watching it at home at television.

So if nobody gets hurt in any way, it cant be a bad thing. Idiots who are not able to think that much, can assert, that this would be a bad thing, because they have haeard that somewhere and seem not to be able to think about that on their own, which would lead them to the result, that there is nothing bad about it, because noone gets hurt. That doesnt make them right.

So that something is a "bad thing", a person must be forced to suffer from it. So there may be persons, who force themself to suffer because of disturbing themself, because of other person watching kids movies. But they are not forced to do so, so you are not responsible for it.

It's not bad at all. I'm 22 and most of the movies I watch are G or PG-rated. I'm just more comfortable watching those kind of movies. If other people don't accept that you like kids movies, then forget them! You shouldn't have to feel pressured into doing something you don't want to do.
