I'm thinking movies like The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, King Kong. Movies that everyone should watch, or at least everyone who aspires to be a member of the luminati.

And, please don't say The Three Stooges Meet Hercules.

How is that iconic? I understand people thinking it is funny (I don't) but I do not see how it is iconic.

It basically defined Will Ferrel's career and is accepted as being one of the best recent American comedies if not the best, whether you like it or not. Everyone knows who Ron Burgandy is, what he looks like and some of the lesser mortals quote his lines.

First of all, love the quote from How to Train Your Dragon, Delphiki!
Second, here are my picks:
The Cider House Rules
Good Will Hunting (yeah, I know, it's already been mentioned, but it's such a good movie)
Pride and Prejudice (am thinking about actually reading Jane Austen's books, not just seeing the movies)
The Legend of Bagger Vance
That's all I can think of right now.
