Watched NCIS - LA last night. Astrid introduced. Really good representation and explanation of Aspergers. Just the facts, no ridicule.

Kenzie is taking Astrid under her wing, and Hetty obviously is thrilled to find a brilliant unattached young Aspie to train into the NCIS fold.

Astrid hit the jackpot. Will be interesting to watch this develop.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! I FOUND SOMEONE ELSE WHO LOVES MY BABY!! !! !
The only problem I had with it was that her diagnosis came to swiftly. You have to talk to a psychologist who then gives you an iq test, and then talks to your parents or whoever. but other than that I LOVE HER!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !

They did a good job with her, and she'll be a recurring part of the show. They need super brains :D

Think they did have a formal diagnosis to corroborate their initial analysis of her.

Made me smile in recognition. Glad it made you happy also.

I was happy to see her character portrayed so well and with such heart. I hope more N/Ts will be able to recognize Aspies and adapt and understand.

This is a reason why I should keep watching NCIS: LA all the time. I also loved how asocial she was with her being online all the time. Kind of like me. Now we just have to wait until the writers of The Big Bang Theory realize that Sheldon has autism to.

Oh, I think they do. I read a behind-the-scenes book on the show. From what I read, the show's creators don't want to make the ASD official for Sheldon because it would change how he would be treated by the other characters. The book is called Unraveling the Mysteries of The Big Bang Theory.

I think Eric is aspie as well...

Two aspie characters on the show! :)

But I notice all these crime investigations shows has at least one aspie like character, not complaining just a observation.

trainbuff, I think you have a valid point there. I don;t limit it to aspies, but it seems the newer solve a crime shows are introducing non-NTs as the problem solvers. Have you seen Perception or the new Sherlock Holmes series?
