Does anyone else find the repetitive cycling of some dvd menu soundtracks entrancing? If so which ones and do you like the whole movies soundtrack?

It's both entrancing and annoying at the same time. I'm conflicted between "make it stop!" and not being able to make it stop. There a really really short one on the most recent Pride and Prejudice DVD, I get caught up in it and get annoyed when it decides on its own to start playing the movie. Do I like the whole soundtrack? Well, it's classical piano music which I play on piano but don't listen to very often.

I love the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack, like to listen to it while I'm cleaning house, doing dishes and stuff.

I don't really listen to movie soundtracks, but I do love video game soundtracks. Most of the songs on my iPod are video game music.

Depends on the movie, the only one I've encountered that I deliberately leave running just to listen to it is from a rather obscure movie entitled Just Where I Belong. I like the ending billing reel song to How to Train Your Dragon as well.

Test drive! I like that music...although I've never seen how to train your dragon.

Any movie I get obsessed with, I will listen to the soundtrack over and over. I did that with Benny & Joon, A League of Their Own, and Titanic. I sometimes play the same music over and over rather than the whole soundtrack. I listen to them as I am on the computer. I used to play them at night when I go to sleep and listen to them in my car.

I like the soundtracks to Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Night at the Roxbury. From Edward Scissorhands I mainly like the extended title theme, Ice Dance and The Grand Finale, From Night At The Roxvbury I like "This Is Your Night", "Beautiful Life" and "Be My Lover (Club Mix)". (I know what song you're all thinking of, and no, I actually find it very annoying!), and from Nightmare Before Christmas, I pretty much like all the songs. :)

Test drive is my favorite song, and favorite scene, in the movie. Oh go get it and watch it. You'll love it.

I like some soundtracks, but to your specific question, OP, I thought immediately of Soderbergh's version of Solaris. The DVD menu is absolutely mesmerizing. I mentioned as much to a couple friends at the time, so it's funny you mention that.

I greatly enjoy movie soundtracks for my favorite movies, ones that are special interests in some way (varying degrees). I really enjoy listening to the instrumental music, because I love how you can re-enact the scene while the music is playing, how a specific musical cue is used at a specific line of dialogue or action. Excluding Chicago, since its soundtrack has lyrics, my favorite movie soundtracks are:
-A Beautiful Mind (obviously)
-Down with Love
-Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
-Home Alone
-Jurassic Park
