BBC Merlin
Does anyone here watch the BBC show "Merlin"??
There are two more episodes left EVER and I'm having so many crazy feelings that I'm going to explode. Literally sat and bounced on my bed after yesterday's episode.
Would love it if other people here were into the show!

I think the campy-ness is part of the appeal! Sometimes you need a break from all the serious drama on TV. Even so, this past season has been a bit more intense, and I think the series finale is going to be pretty good! (At least that's what I'm hoping for...!)

Another Merlin fan here. I had no idea that this was the last series, until a few days ago. It could have gone for a lot longer. I must say, however, that I've not enjoyed this series nearly as much as the previous ones. There hasn't been as many creatures, which I loved and I don't think it's aiming for the younger audience as much as it did (it takes quite a bit to scare my 7yr old). It just appears to have been about Morgana and, I agree, she's not a great villain - a bit like me at Halloween - the face, doesn't really do scary and I've not enjoyed Gwen as queen (I liked her as the love interest). I will miss it.

I thought the last episode was somewhat anti-climatic and it just didn't close the series very well in my opinion. It felt rushed, but overall it wasn't a bad ending either. If you know the Legend of King Arthur, he is killed in battle by Mordrid. The crazy thing was since Arthur didn't die immediately, we thought he was going to make it. We thought there was going to be a happy ending where Arthur pulls through. How many times in the series has he cheated death after being mortally wounded or poisoned? More than I can count, that's for sure. So in this episode, we believed that it was going to be just like any of the previous episodes where they had to travel to some sacred place (that being Avalon in this episode) to remedy. However, that didn't happen this time unfortunately. This time, they were too late. Merlin didn't reach Avalon in time, and Arthur perished right on the shore. That's what made the episode good overall, it being the final episode and all, even though it was sad.
I really REALLY didn't like how they killed off Morgana. This is a character who was there from the very beginning, and in the first two seasons she was on the side of good. She was my favorite character up until she turned evil in the third season. It would have been one thing if she was a GOOD villain. Unfortunately, she sucked horribly at that role. Yes, she did become more competent each season and even had her moments, but this was a villain who wasn't even that powerful and could have been killed off easily if it wasn't for the plot. She was more annoying as a villain than anything, but that could be due to Katie McGrath's horrid acting skills. I was hoping there would be some epic battle between her and Merlin, or better yet...she becomes good again as some sort of resolution. But no. Morgana was killed off just as quickly as some random lackie in the show. At least when Mordrid was killed off, it left an impact.
Was anyone just as confused as I was at the very last scene? I felt like that was just thrown in there for s**ts and giggles. What happened was they showed Avalon in the distance and then all the sudden a semi-truck passed by, indicating that it's now modern times. We see old Merlin walking down the road, and that was it.
I really want to get the entire series on DVD now that it's over. It kind of sucks though, seeing as I've always looked forward to watching Merlin every Fall for the past 3-4 years or so, and now I won't get to do that anymore. Oh well...there's still Game of Thrones!
