I dunno.

Leonardo is obviously not the best and never was, and barely got any props even for the few flicks that actually did pretty decent, such as Inception and whatnot.
perhaps I should just forget DiCaprio unless anyone wonders if there might be any chance there could be a great role that actually would fit his specific personal style, like an example storyline that has yet to be thought up, if you've ever done screenwriting before.

As far as Tom, I am looking forward to Oblivion and he's never--pretty much ever--failed to disappoint, and probably still belittles the likes of DiCaprio despite the Scientology rants that affect his quickly declining fan base as far as i predict...besides all that i am wondering what will become of either hot ticket in the years to come. Who thinks Leo might still have potential?

They're both well paid and loved by millions. They'll probably be part of the Hollywood machine for years to come, kind of like Jack Nicholson or Tommy Lee Jones. Who knows? Maybe one day they'll both play parts unexpected of their type and win Academy awards, if that's their goal.

DiCaprio was awesome in Django Unchained. He proved that he can make a great villain.

Cruise is a preening narcissist that would never take a role like that.

IMO, Tom Cruise has very poor acting skills, and he lacks the ability to portray anything but a narrow set of personalities.

I only liked him in Born on the Fourth of July, Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles and Tropic Thunder.

I really liked him as Lestat, though, but I assume this is because their personalities are so alike...

I was initially unimpressed by DiCaprio, but I changed my mind after seeing him in The Departed.

As much crap as people give Tom Cruise, at least he does his own stunts. I couldn't care less about his personal life but he is still entertaining in certain types of movies even if isn't a very versatile actor.

I find that if I am watching a movie and I am focused more on the character than the actor than they are a good actor. I find that when I am watching a DiCaprio and Cruise movie I never see the character I only see DiCaprio and Cruise. Actors like Daniel Day Lewis, Christian Bale, and Meryl Streep actually show me the character and not their star power. There are other good actors too. I just believe if you say, "I just saw the new Tom Cruise movie," versus "I just saw Lincoln." That tells you the difference between star power and actor. You get the point.

Star Power
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Jim Carrey
Sandra Bullock
Julia Roberts
Clint Eastwood except for the movie bridges of "Madison County"
Rock
Robert Downey Jr. except for any movies before the "Iron Man"
George Clooney
Johnny Depp except for any movie before the Pirate movies

Actor
Daniel Day Lewis
Meryl Streep
Christian Bale
Dustin Hoffman
Michael Caine except for Batman
Sean Penn
Kate Winslet
Sally Fields
Anne Hathaway

By the way, I do like movies with Star power however I do not have the same respect and usually do not find myself thinking about their movies days later.

I also know that my list may differ from others.

And yes I know that my quote is from Batman and it is said by Michael Caine, however I only think of Caine and not Alfred.

Actually, Tom Cruise played a villain in the movie Collateral.

He proved that like DiCaprio, though Collateral was released well before Django Unchained,
he too can make a great villain. I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise, but he should play villains more often.
