I was going to see it today, but I missed the first showing, and then I miss the showing after that. So instead I went to see After Earth, M. Night Shyamalan's new film.
I now plan to see Man of Steel tomorrow (Sunday).

Oh, and why did I miss both showing? Reading the forums, and I lost track of time.

I saw the movie, and am very surprised that it got such mixed reviews from critics. It was probably one of the best if not the best superhero movies that I have seen in the 21st century.

The balance between exposition and just straight up action is so much better than the one with Brandon Routh in it, with a good chunk of it being explained in a series of flashbacks. My only major complaint in the movie is that there is a little bit of filler. Other than that, I would recommend seeing it.

Batman Begins only got 70 on metacritic despite it being the best superhero origin movie ever. Not including Man of Steel since I haven't watched it yet.
The Dark Knight only got 82 despite it certainly deserved getting over 90.

I saw the movie on friday. I'm a huge comic book geek, not particularly a Superman fan, but I loved the movie.

As I posted on another thread, it reminded me of a live action episode of DCAU Justice League....

As a matter of fact, I'd say they used this sequence to storyboard the final fight.

Also, I thought the designs of Krypton were really interesting/cool. This is definitely the most sci-fi Superman movie yet.

I saw it on Saturday in IMAX 3D and it was fricking awesome! The action in the movie was very intense, it was like watching Dragon Ball Z. If you like Superman, I'd give this movie a chance, either in 2D or 3D.

Gotta go. My son wants to Play MTG online.

I plan on watching it in IMAX 3D tomorrow. It will easily be the single most expensive movie ticket I ever purchased. Heh.

Awesome flick. Love the original Christopher Reeve movies minus III & IV but MOS is ten times better and so epic. The Dark Knight is still the best superhero flick but Man of Steel would either be my second or third somewhere in the top 5. Might even give it a second viewing if nothing else is on. Dumbass critics I mean 57% on rotten Tomatoes. Didn't Superman Returns get a higher rating than that.

I really liked it. I saw it in 3D, and surprisingly, that was tolerable =D. It didn't come close to any of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies, though. Hans Zimmer, though =D. He definitely delivered with the score.

Watched it Thursday, by far the best Superman iteration on screen to date. And one of the best superhero movies to date.

My exact thoughts as well. Couldn't have put it any better.

I saw it yesterday. I enjoyed it.

My only complaint was that Superman had been living on Earth his whole life, gaining extra strength from the Sun, practising jumping in Earth's relatively weak gravity, breathing Earth's healthy atmosphere, etc. Jor-El said that Kal had grown "stronger than I could ever have imagined". But then Zod and his cronies show up, and are at least his equals? This is despite not having had years of exposure to the Sun or breathing Earth's atmosphere, and needing to adjust to Earth's gravity. Zod even gains the power of heat vision within a day or two.

I loved Man of Steel! Being a huge DC comics fan, I was very happy with the movie! I hope for a 2nd movie and a Justice League movie very soon. The only thing that keeps bugging me is the Ihop, 7 Eleven being shown to much, and even Sears??? haha other than that I enjoyed it.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING POST CONTAINS MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF OVERTHINKING AND IS REALLY BORING

I'd really like (but am not expecting) a Wonder Woman movie next year.

Then a Justice League movie the year after. A very small team, just Superman, Wonder Woman, The Green Lantern (Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan rather than attempting another reboot), The Flash, and Batman, ideally with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. It would never happen, but it should do.

Then move into phase 3 (phase 1 being the Dark Knight trilogy plus Green Lantern (!), phase two being Man Of Steel, Wonder Woman, and JL), which would give The Flash his own film. I'd be tempted to introduce one of Aquaman, Mighty Martian, or Captain Marvel. Then if the Green Lantern is well received in JL, I'd give him a sequel, if not then have another intro story for one of the aforementioned. I'd look at a Nightwing film with Joseph Gordon. Finally, a new Superman film (Man of Steel sequel) before JL2 to conclude that storyline.

If I may remain in the world of fantasy for a little longer, I'd like to see an Avengers-Justice League metacrisis film. It would never work (because for the studios to work together they'd need to gross double what an Avengers or JL movie would get, which simply isn't possible) but I will keep dreaming. In fantasy world, I'd like Superman, Supergirl, Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash to represent the Justice League, plus Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, and whilst I'm in fantasy land I'll draft in Spider Man too. Thanos releases Doomsday into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That would be so epic.

However, leaving aside that most outlandish of fantasies, I think after JL2 we'd be ready for a Batman reboot.

I think it would have been better if they had stuck with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Superman.

He botched the casting, though:
