I don't think there's been a remake of Spartacus, starred by originally kirk Douglas, and in my view he played it the best.
Samson and Delilah (we live in vain)
The Adams Family (none up to date)
The mummy (no added sequels after part III)
king kong (no added sequels)
Rocky part VI (I think slys retired now)
Twilight series- any takers?
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Around the world in 80 days
Its a clambake!
Carousel
and basically all old musical films
(because the production companies stopped making them)

I don't think that The Godfather, Gone With the Wind, or Casablanca should EVER be remade.

Some movies should be left alone.

Also, IMO, they should have never made a sequel to A Christmas Story.

I think, from my understanding of the breakfast of tiffany's film, that a remake-that was actually based on Truman Capote's original novella-could be done.

I'm really disgusted in the American entertainment industry. All it does today is pointlessly remake movies and TV shows, make crappy uninteresting reality TV shows, and release almost every new film in 3D. There needs to be a law prohibiting remakes and movies and TV shows (American or foreign) in the USA. Anyone who violates this law should pay $50,000-$100,000.

It's all about the bean counting and appealing to insert minority group here and not having the guts to make what you want not what others want you to do nowdays, when 20-30 years ago it didn't matter. If something is good and people go see it that's all that should matter. One of my favourite actors who I got to meet recently (in my avatar) feels the same as you do on the topic. I agree with him 100% but had to censor what I really think as some people would see me being un PC.

Death Bed; The Bed That Eats  It's a really bad horror movie & a major factor in why me & the few cult fans who actually do like it like it is because of how ridiculously awful the special effects are.

ANYTHING directed by Andrei Tarkovsky or Ingmar Bergman.

(My two favorite directors - this is why I'm single.)

I really love all the Back to the Future films, and I think they should remain as they are. All three were brilliantly written and convincingly acted, plus Alan Silvestri's score still excites me. They wrapped everything up with a nice bow at the end; that's enough.

Another movie I really want left alone is Field of Dreams; so much hard work went into that story from all involved, and it shows. James Earl Jones' speech near the end is still ranked among the best in film history; no one should mess with any of it.

If someone remakes To Live and Die in L.A., I will leave their carcass in a dumpster beside a desert warehouse.

You want to a know a film that can't be remade? The Brave Little Toaster. But the sad thing is, they actually are remaking it... T.T Somehow, Waterman Entertainment got a hold of the rights from Disney, so now they own it!

Seriously, how are they going remake something so dark and twisted aimed at little kids of this generation? Some little kid might even look up clips of the original on youtube, and come across that scary clown dream sequence...

Forgive me if I'm being a little bit biased, because it actually is one of my interests... I'll probably still give it a chance, but they better not make some stupid iphone reference...

I just read "Solaris" by Stanislaw Lem and as much as I like Tarkovsky's version, I would love to see a version that actually followed the book. The first version, a low budget production for Russian television done in 1968 is the most faithful to the book, but lacked the visual effects budget to get across the sheer alien quality of the planet.

Whistle down the wind from 1961

Apart from the fact its based on Humanity rather than killing and action, it wouldn't make sense to portray modern Children getting excited when they mistake an escaped criminal for Jesus.

Kids of today would be more excited to mistake the returned Jesus for an escaped criminal.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

1988 cult classic that should NEVER be remade.
