Anyone remember this? Joan of Arcadia. About a teenage girl who can talk to "God" who takes on numerous human forms interacting with her? I loved that show, despite being Atheistic. It ended on some cliffhanger, and I HATE when shows are cancelled on cliffhangers...

I loved that show!! And yes, I'm not into religion either, it was just a really cool and interesting premise because the different "Gods" were such quirky, nutty people, it was huge fun! Did you have a favorite "God"? I liked the Goth Guy, the Old Lady, and the Little Girl. The Hot Guy was pretty nice too.

Amber Tamblyn was terrific as Joan; that girl has some good acting chops. I too hated the cliffhanger ending -- apparently the network just up and cancelled the show without giving the makers an opportunity to wrap things up with more closure. Such a shame.

Seeing "God" interact with Joan as a Goth and as an old woman were both very interesting to see. I know, she was amazing in her role as Joan, and I was looking forward to Joan's character development in her conflict with the wealthy new guy in town... I still would have preferred knowing what he was planning lol

Yeah, they ended it very abruptly and should have done at least a feature length movie to wrap things up, because they honestly don't seem to care about what the fans of the show wanted.

That new guy in town was going to be such an interesting development, the least the network could have done would be to let them make a few more episodes just to give the fans some kind of real ending! It's too bad.

Great show though.

I'm Catholic and I loved that show! :)

God taking on various human forms was interesting and IMO, the show was like a more serious version of Bruce Almighty and/or Dogma.

On a sidenote, does anyone remember if Joan was an atheist?

I could be wrong, but I think I remember getting the impression that Joan was kind of neutral about religious beliefs -- maybe not an atheist but not particularly a follower of anything either. Except for her mother's own, isolated growing interest in Catholicism, Joan's family as a whole seemed not to be particularly affiliated with any religion or practices.
