If you're into ultra low budget shot of video stuff, you might like THE BURNING MOON, NEKROMANTIK, or THINGS. I own the BURNING MOON and I'd like to get the others. THE BURNING MOON was shot on VHS, and the picture is terrible. But the pure anti-human nature of the film is something to watch. Haven't seen the other two, but want to own them since they were shot on 8mm instead of VHS. Another sick film worth watching is VISIONS OF SUFFERING. I am pleased to say the dream sequences in that film still haunt me.
Oh, I'm intimately familiar with all of those, with the exception of 'Visions of Suffering', though I'm not as acquainted with most films made after the '90s. I'll have to add it to my list.
I'm a massive fan of shot-on-VHS - I consider it the "lo-fi" of the cinema world. I actually bought a 1980s VHS camcorder with the intention of eventually shooting my own movie, so I've seen stuff like Olaf Ittenbach and Andreas Schnaas' stuff inside and out. 'Nekromantik' I appreciated more than I did actually enjoy it (same with the sequel), but I sold my copy on eBay for nearly $100, so it'll always hold a special place in my heart.
