In the original movie Darth Vader says to Obi Wan "When I left you I was but the learner now I am the master". But in Revenge of the Sith Anakin was a Jedi Knight when he became Darth Vader. That quote suggests that Vader was still an apprentice when he left the Jedi order. I know it's a nitpick but still.

Obi-Wan was a Jedi Master, a rank Anakin never achieved before turning to the dark side.

The comment is valid, even if only from a certain point of view ;)

I suspect George Lucas had originally envisioned Vader falling to the Dark Side when he was younger, and still receiving training. And I also recall Obi-Wan telling Luke that Vader was "a pupil of mine, till he turned to evil." That word choice would imply that Obi-Wan had had other pupils than Vader; yet by the time of prequels, Anakin/Vader is his only Padawan (spelling).
