I like this show, though I'm not sure why. If there's subtext, I don't know what it is.

I like the fact that Eugene aka Mullet Man claimed to be smarter than Abraham yet managed to shoot the truck.

The first two episodes (after the recent break) were painfully slow. Yesterday's episode picks up a little. Eugene and the Sgt's arrival must mean that Lucille and friends are going to be making an appearance soon.

Looks like people are starting to head towards "civilization" again. I hope this isn't just a repeat of the farm and Woodbury: seems nice, secretly crazy, disaster, flee.

Looks like there's more action this season than all of season 2 already, the prison attack said it all.

^^^
I rather liked it. Daryl finally let his guard down, and talked about his wasted life before the zombie apocalypse. Not that it wasn't anything I hadn't figured - but still, it was nice to hear him finally share.

Darryl's got a bigger heart than I do. If I hadn't left that girl on her own after she stormed off to find booze, I'd have done it when she decided to try to get us both drunk and accused me of not being emotionally available enough in a post-apocalyptic world

I know this is from a long time ago, but I'm going to answer, anyway.

There will never be a reason given, because Kirkman has said a few times he isn't interested in discovering that. (Personally, I think he is just lazy.) He even goes as far as to wish Season One Episode TS-19 doesn't exist.

I recall how in Fear The Walking Dead, one character surmised that the zombie plague was the earth's reaction to human overpopulation, and destruction of the environment. Or in other words, it's nature counterbalancing the human plague with a cannibalistic walking dead plague.

SPIOLERS just in case nobody saw it and have been living under a rock.

------------------
Rick's gradual unraveling on the last episode was outstanding to observe, I observed it with great intrigue but with a considerable dollop of recoil that kept springing back and forth as things progressed, the man has a stupendous weight on his shoulders and he had no way out for the first time, utterly out numbered, out manoeuvred and out-psyched. I thought Negan showed great restraint to be honest, how many of his crew have Rick's gang massacred for a few sacks of potatoes from the hilltop? Yeah they were pretty grim chaps who aren't exactly the finest humans around but that crap was COLD what they done to them. Negan just bashing one person's head in, they got off light. I know he wants them to work for him but he could've dished out a couple skull fractures because they'll be back for revenge down the line anyway.

Drama does not equal soap opera.
