Is talking about Family Guy "socially unacceptable?"

I love Family Guy and talk about it and other cartoons a lot. I was wondering if talking about it in public is "socially unacceptable" though after reading this A.V. Club article, which claims that it's "reviled" and that Seth MacFarlane's other series American Dad! is more "socially accepted":

For the record I love shows like Family Guy but it can get very vulgar and offensive so yes there are times when it's not a good idea to talk about shows like that.
