The 2004 Punisher movie, or Children of Men. Those just get to me every time. I can't help but cry in at least one point in each movie.

Mine is Titanic. It's very well done and I like the characters.

A Scanner Darkly

Initially it works well just exploring the strange life of Officer Fred aka Bob Arctor with some funny moments along the way. It ends on a very somber note though with Bob utterly broken mentally from Substance D and Donna wondering what monsters they were standing aside to let it happen.

Add to that, the story is dedicated to the author's friends who suffered terribly or died from their drug use.

I suppose I feel similarly about the movie I take my screen name from VIDEODROME. Although Max at least personally struck a hard blow against his enemies before succumbing to the signal.

Roy Batty's monologue toward the end makes up for anything bad he had ever done.

I hope the new one isn't as bleak.
