Because Wrong Planet polls are limited to just 20 voting options, it wouldn’t make sense to restrict voters’ choices with so many possibilities. So, this will be a wide-ranging poll which describes those characters who you believe exhibit autistic behaviors and characteristics in addition to their other conditions and talents.

As you name and describe your chosen characters, it might help to search through the The X-Files Wiki web site ( http://x-files.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page ).

So, I will start off....

1) Chess prodigy Gibson Praise

2) NICAP investigator Max Fenig

3) Any of The Lone Gunmen

Scully, especially in the first few years of the show. Flat effect, logical scientific type thinking. Everything was her work, no small talk. In the reboot she displayed a lot more “typical” emotions.

Hmmm. I hadn't thought of her early episodes, but you are right! She used to be a bit of a chatterbox reminding Mulder of FBI chapter and verse. Yes, seemingly quite autistic for a while.

I'd go with Mulder, as he's the least social, most eccentric, and too often - dare I say it - gullible.

I think both Scully and Mulder each have some autistic traits. There's also the woman in the season 7 (I think) episode "Alpha," who's obsessed with canids - she strikes me as autistic.

The girl from the episode "Chinga", which I happen to have just been watching, was autistic.

Characters who were diagnosed autistic in the show were such a caricature. Roland in the namesake episode, and Harold in Elegy. ...

Do you think Jonathan from Buffy the Vampire Slayer was autistic?

Darin Peter Oswald from the episode "D.P.O.", just because of his poor social skills, single and best friend, preoccupation with video games, his tantrums, and the use of his acquired powers to try to get what he wants (kinda like logic-ing a thing). Less the super-intelligent and distant autistic and more immature, fantasy prone, and bipolar autistic.
