Spock has been my idol since I was a child, I could only hope to be so confident and competent. I also really identify with the air of befuddlement that Data tends to give off. Spock will always be my spirit animal though.

Dif-tor heh smusma!

<---- Julian Bashir: Socially awkward, excellent memory, and feeling isolated by intelligence? Yeah, I think I can relate to that. Also, I strongly associated his *SPOILER*genetic enhancement*/SPOILER* with autism.

Odo: Brusque, blunt, prefers to be an observer rather than participator, outsider, highly values his privacy, feels deeply but doesn't express it, rigid principles.

That's great! Before I decided to watch DS9 i took one of those online "what character are you" quizzes for the show. I like to see if there are any characters I might relate to before I watch it. I got Julian Bashir, I hope I like him as much as you do when I get to watching DS9!

Data will always be the character that I identify with the most, Brent Spiner did an excellent job in the roll.

However I do also enjoy all of the characters that are on the outside trying to make sense of the people around them. On the outside looking in.

Odo! I know since he's not human he can't be said to have autism, but I felt like so much of his experience was a direct metaphor for autism. I'm much more friendly externally than he is, but I feel like internally I'm very similar in personality to him, just without the black-and-white-thinking aspect.

To a lesser extent, Barclay, Seven, Spock, and Data. Big surprise that I always relate to the outsider characters, huh?

I've only watched up to the early middle of the fifth season of ds9 though so if he ends up turning evil or something I'm not saying I identify with that lol :P

Spock, always. Yearning for a world ruled by logic and reason, often tripped up by my own unpredictable emotional response.

When I see the Horta I end up craving a deep-dish sausage pizza. :)

I try not to think of pizza, too fattening. but if I were to think of one, it'd be pizza hut stuffed crust job with the works. :chef: but I like to think of myself as an above ground horta kinda guy :alien:

Not really sure come to think of it, but Worf is certainly one of my favorite characters.

To account for Star Trek Discovery, I think the character I'm most drawn to is Commander Saru. He started out as the science officer on the Shenzhou, and he seems very appreciative of exploring the mysteries of the universe, and of applying logic in problematic situations. At the same time, he has some serious insecurity issues, stemming from both his nature as a member of a 'fleeing species' that is hunted by predators, as well as his envy of Michael.

The second character I can relate to would be Michael Burnham, though that is a bit more of an obvious choice than Saru. She is full-blooded human raised on Vulcan, so there is the interesting conflict between her hyper-logical upbringing and her human nature. I find her interesting because she tends to approach situations from a rational angle yet also has a very strong sense of justice.

And I guess the third would be Lt. Stamets. I don't identify with him as much as either Saru or Michael, but I like his gruff stand-offish demeanour, and his preference to be involved with scientific research as opposed to the warfare the Discovery crew find themselves drawn into. I think he, Michael, and Tilly form an intriguing bloc of morally upright characters amidst a crew of less-compromising characters like Captain Lorca and Ash Tyler.
