H&I is only broadcasted in certain locations. I have an air antenna, I pick it up from Lansing (channel 10.2)

I know we used to pick up some stations from Chicago, but that was before the switch to digital. Where I am now, sometimes we have trouble picking up PBS, and I would have to move the antenna somewhere else if I wanted to watch CBS.

Antenna TV usually comes in decent. That was about the only thing we still watched on TV for a long time. Leave it to Beaver and Dragnet right after work 8)

If I remember, I'll have to look and see if I can find it, but after seeing the list of locations that broadcast it, I have doubts.

I wonder which Star Trek most people prefer. My theory is that most (but not all!) prefer the Star Trek they grew up with. For me, that’s The Next Generation.

I also find TNG soothing. I grew up watching it as well, and even though I've branched out and enjoyed others - it will always be my main squeeze.

back when star trek [the 60s one] was widely in reruns on local stations, I musta seen all the episodes multiple times and even was able to recite lines of dialogue verbatim.

Ugh, giant space tardigrades? No, that's very dumb.

I’ve been in the mood to watch episodes of Star Trek The Next Generation.

I find it comforting.

Generally I think TNG is the jewel in the ST crown. The best of the series that was everything ST should be and nothing that it shouldn't (DS9 was plenty that it shouldn't--I call it geopolitical Trek).

But it had its turkeys. Eps like the Royale, Skin of Evil, Code of Honor...

One thing that always bothered me was Geordis relationship status. Here you had a guy who was kind, nice, and for 6 seasons chief engineer of the flagship. And Data, the emotionless android; and Worf, the walking frown Klingon, had more luck with women then he did!

I know! Geordi would’ve been a great catch!

I actually had a crush on the actor when I was little. I loved TNG and Reading Rainbow.

Another thing that bothers me about TNG: Riker should have been Captain of his own ship by early Season 4, and Data probably by the middle of Season 7 or so. Their talents were WASTED and its absurd that the two of them would receive no promotions in SEVEN YEARS.
I also found it absurd that poor Ensign Harry Kim should stay an Ensign for seven years. He was far too clever not to get a promotion imo.

I've been waiting for more Discovery and just found out that a stand-alone episode is being released on October 4. I'm in Australia so we may get it later. All the same, I can't wait.

Well I just finished watching all the episodes of ST: Discovery (I think; 15 of them).

I've run out of Star Trek. :(

how many other people here have seen Harlan Ellison's original screen treatment of "city on the edge of forever"?

I like the original series and first 6 movies best. I've watched those more often than the rest. Haven't watched discovery yet. If darmok likes it it must be ok.

i'd like it if somebody did a big-screen remake of "city on the edge of forever" but including more details from Harlan Ellison's original script.
