Ah yes Twin Peaks. Love it. I take great satisfaction in living relatively close to Snoqualmie and North Bend where a lot of the exteriors were filmed. And Laura Parker's house being within walking distance of my house.

TOO COOL!! !
Lynch had actually spent part of his childhood growing up in my neck of the woods in the Spokane area.

Probably gave him the inspiration for Lumberton.

Yeah it is really cool being able to visit the locations. In Fire Walk With Me the street that Laura walks down to Donna Hayward's house is one that I walk down frequently. Has lots of big old maple trees. The Palmer house is nearby but further away than they make it look.

From what I've read, it's pretty much the case that Spokane had been the inspiration for Lumberton, right down to street names like Napa and Lincoln.

I’ve heard him say a lot of sensible things when he was espousing his philosophy about things.

I think the opening scene of the movie is to show everything that’s bright, serene and innocent and everything that’s for show like with the flowers in the first shot. I think the bugs represent the wildness and darkness of the underbelly of society. They represent the disease beneath. Disease could be of the body like a stroke or heart attack or could be that of the soul being evil. They both can pull you into the darkness.

Let me know what you think

He is my favorite director, and has been since I was an early adolescent. I also really admire the work he is accomplishing with meditation, and I heard he reaches out to autistic people with his foundation too. Lost Highway is my favorite of his films, and I also love Inland Empire and Eraserhead.

I love Twin Peaks but I haven’t watched Fire Walk with Me and that is because I don’t remember season 2 and I can’t be bothered to sit thru that again. But as a lot of people are saying, Blue Velvet!
