The first Mortal Kombat movie was released in 1994 and despite mixed reviews, was successful at the box office.
It is now a cult classic.

Mortal Kombat 2 was released in 1998, but bombed with critics and audiences alike.

Thanks for sharing. It looks awesome. I like Hiroyuki Sanada, he was great in the twilight samurai.

Like many, I'm glad this will be rated R. :D

Everyone should expect for its DVD & Blu-Ray, not only the theatrical version but also an unrated version.

I think it's probably a mistake to rate it R though, because I thought that this movie's bigger fan base would be teenagers unless I am wrong?

Also the trailer looks okay, but it doesn't look any impressive in terms of fights, or sets and costumes, then the first movie, and looks like it hasn't advanced really, even though the first came out in 95.

Welcome to Wrong Planet! :)

The fight scenes are going to be bloody, so therefore this new film is rated R.

Me too!

If theaters don't fully reopen by 4/16, then like many, I'll have to improvise.
