I'm not sure I would call it a best movie...unless you like slow, atmospheric horror movies...or we're talking about movies in Esperanto...but IMDb does like it. I agree it is worth watching, however. You get to see a pre Trek William Shatner speaking Esperanto with a Canadian accent.

The Descent

A very gory, very claustrophobic film about a group of women who go backpacking one day,
but suddenly are trapped in a cave where they are hunted by a mysterious group of
humanoid creatures.

This is not the 1996 film with Chris Farley.

Good film, rarely shown. To think that being in heaven / eternal paradise can actually make you miserable if the love of your life is forced to incarnate.

the thing is that our loved ones in heaven are ok with their loved ones leaving them for a short bit of earth school time. it is rather like parents sending their kids off to summer camp.

I told my bride about this thread and she really wants me to mention one of her favorite films:

Gigot [1962]
Tagline: "A new joy has come to the screen... and the world is a happier place to live in!"
Starring Jackie Gleason, so talented he truly was "The Great One", and the movie was directed by Gene Kelly.
This is not the kind of movie I usually seek but I admit it is quite good and I don't mind watching it with my bride.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil [2010]
Tagline: "The perfect love story... with a high body count..."

CAUTION
To the casual observer this movie appears to have an excess of gory violence...so don't be a casual observer! If you pay attention to the film it is very funny!

Not too obscure but I really like Dazed and Confused (Linklater), Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway (both by David Lynch).
