"Casino" is a problematic movie for me too. It both engages me...and then bores the crap out of me. A couple or three times Ive tried to watch to it....but just couldnt get through it to the end.

I like a movie that educates me on things like...how the casino business works. And how it worked at a particular time and place (Vegas in the Mob dominated days of decades past). And the characters ( who are basically just trying to earn a living like the rest of us) are a lot easier to relate to then say...the comic book superheroes in all of those boring impossible-to-relate-to Avenger movies. But I guess the movie is just too long.

I thought it was boring too.

I also do not like Avenger movies in general, though I thought Captain America: The Winter Soldier was good back when I watched it around 2014 or so. I'm not sure I'd like it in the current day, however.

I don't like musicals for the most part either, or martial arts movies.

I think my mom is more eclectic than most people. She has always liked action movies. There cannot be too much violence in an action movie to my mom... as long as its the hero tearing the villains in half. She gets frustrated and starts saying she hates the movie if the hero/heroes are hurt a lot or die. She was really into Vikings. My mom loves some fantasy and sci-fi. She liked the movie Avatar and TV show Lost. She likes horror slashers and sharks. She's really gotten into some of the romantic Kdramas like Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.

My mom does generally prefer to watch modern things though. She's not very interested in rewatching something from the 80s or 90s... or even seeing things back then that she hasn't already seen. That's maybe our biggest difference. She also doesn't really like animated TV shows despite like animated movies. I guess she starts missing seeing real people quickly?

She also dislikes a lot of the popular sitcoms like The Office, Seinfeld, How I Met Your Mother, and so on. Yet she likes The Big Bang Theory, Two And A Half Men, Modern Family, etc. I've never figured out the difference between the ones she likes and dislikes.

Anything based on a John Grisham novel.
Most movies with Sandra Bullock. (I love The Lake House and The Blind Side though.)

I made it through about 10 minutes of La La Land. No thanks.

But I love me some Titanic. I go and see it whenever its on at the cinema. You have to see it in a cinema.

Blair Witch Project ....anybody could have shot that movie that had a cell phone I walked out of it ..after ten minutes , then saw clips of later parts of it, that only justified my action at that time. 8O

My NT sister hates movies that have Michael Cera, Jesse Eisenberg,
Emma Stone or Jennifer Lawrence in them, even though my NT sister did like:

Scott Pilgrim VS The World

Now You See Me

Adventureland

Winter's Bone

The Hunger Games

Silver Linings Playbook

Also, my NT sister will not watch any comedies that have a lot of sex jokes.

I did see it in a cinema. I like the photography and visuals. I'm just not into the love story which is weak at best, taking precedence over the despair of real families / couples who had loved each other for years.

True. The bouncy camera was very annoying for my visual misophonia, and didn't add to the scary factor. The story itself wasn't even scary imo.

I agree. I just love the ship and the detail they put into recreating it. And the last hour, the sinking, is great in the cinema.

Anchorman.

I've never found anything funny about Will Ferrell but everyone kept telling me I should watch Anchorman because even people who don't get Will Ferrell like Anchorman.

So I watched it. And it was rubbish.
