Coupling (2000)
Season 1
episodes 1 - Flushed
episodes 2 - Size Matters
episodes 3 - Sex, Death & Nudity

A Steven Moffat (pre-Doctor Who, and pre-Sherlock) created the show. It's a comedy. Risqué humor. Double entendre humor. When I first watched it, I remember it being funny, but it made me uncomfortable.

Like The Office, an American version was created. That lasted 11 episodes. The BBC Two version lasted four years. I've never seen the American version.

One character is a bit of a loon. She's told by her boyfriend he is breaking up. She says no you're not. In the second episode, she is "dating" a gay man. First she tells him he is not homosexual. He is people-sexual. Later he tells her this is not a date. She laughs and tells him he is mistaken.

Side tangent: I was looking for a clip top post on YouTube, and two videos popped up, both "actors then and now." In one Gina Bellman is shown (then) and the now picture shows her in a wheelchair, minus one leg. The other shows Kate Isitt (then) and the now picture shows her in a wheelchair, minus both legs. What? Both videos say the cast is "tragically old." Both are from the Jack Tell History channel. I blocked that channel. As far as I can tell, both actresses have their legs intact. I checked his channel. Before and photoshopped after is a running theme with this person.

Stumbled across a trailer on YouTube that led me to this...

Actually, Iconic: Richard Estes

Actually Icon is, I think, a PBS series. At first I thought the title referred to a documentary film. Sort of right.

To watch the actual episode, click the above link, if interested.

I thoroughly enjoyed this docu-episode about Richard Estes. Learned a lot about him and his work. The only thing that personally rubs me the wrong way is when someone stands in front of a painting and tells us what we are seeing. I would rather look at the work and dissect it with my own eyes. To hear someone describe it sometimes seems like B.S. (NOT Bachelor of Science). That's harsh, and I'm being a twit.

I love his easel.

Coupling
(spread over the past several days)
Finished season 1, 2, 3, and just finished season 4.

It has a nice ending, although it seems like they made room for a fifth season. That didn't happen.

"Mr. Denton on Doomsday" from "The Twilight Zone" Season 1, Episode 3. Love this series so much!

On Hulu
Bob's Burger
Season 15, episode 6 - Hope N' Mic Night

The Simpsons
Season 36, episode 6 - Women in Shorts
Several vignettes, all coming together in a reprise appearance at the end of the episode. It was funny.

Creamerie
Season 1, episode 1 - Pilot

IMDB Descriptio wrote:
In the not-too-distant future, a viral plague has swept the earth. In a matter of weeks, it eradicated 99% of men. The remaining 1% were sent to The Facility in New Zealand but didn't survive. Or did they?

"Eight years ago, the virus took all the world's men."
"Sperm is precious. Sperm is rare. That is why we've established the repopulation lottery."

I enjoyed the first two minutes. Shows a snipet of what happened eight years before. There is blood... Quite a shift after watching Bob's Burgers and The Simpsons. I enjoyed the whole episode. I just liked the way the first to minutes were told.

Last night we finished watching our way through:

Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century [1999–2001]

We enjoyed it!

They had a nice science fiction explanation for how Sherlock Holmes was revived. To make him more comfortable, one of New Scotland Yard's robots masqueraded as Dr. Watson...with suitable mannerisms and face mask. Moriarty's presence was acknowledged to be a mystery, which the series did not resolve.

Most stunningly, I think, was the voice actor for Sherlock Holmes was Jason Gray-Stanford who did not sound at all like "Lieutenant Randy Disher" who he played in all of Monk [2002–2009]. Remarkable!

All-in-all, a fun cartoon.

A Question Of Attribution

A play by Alan Bennett, first shown on the BBC in the early 1990s. It's centred on the unmasking of Anthony Blunt, an art expert who was in charge of Queen Elizabeth II's picture collection, as a former Soviet spy in 1979. Blunt was the 'Fourth Man' in the infamous 'Cambridge Spy Ring' that also included Guy Burgess, Donald McLean and Kim Philby. Very witty, clever and sharply observed, as you might expect from Bennett.

Last night we watched:

What We Do in the Shadows [2014]
<=>"Some interviews with some vampires."

This is not a TV episode, it is a movie...and not a TV movie but a movie theater movie. So, why am I listing it in this thread? Because it spawned a TV series which we intend to watch next. I figure this movie is effectively the first episode of the TV series and so I am noting this here.

And this movie is a lot of fun!

\o/\o/\o/R E C O M M E N D E D !\o/

What is it about? WATCH THE TRAILER ABOVE!
