Of course they wouldn't. Transformers has too much appeal to children. So it'll probably be PG-13, since it's gotta have explosions and gunfire and what not; most parents will take their kids to a PG-13 movie if it has TRANSFORMING ROBOTS ZOMG! Think "Spider-Man."

Yeah, that's what they did with Batman Begins and IMO it didn't need to go R to be as sick as it was - I think though Transformers are shooting more for my generation who grew up watching them as kids, maybe saw the first movie as kids, and being we're all in our 20's and early 30's now they'll probably go for a lot of adult thematics at least.

it's going to suck in sense of continuity if any remnant of the concepts of the leaked script survived, and it looks like they did at least in part....

now, if it were not Transformers and were just

Giant transforming robots of doom movie

it'd rule regardless of scripting as it is

the more and more i hear bout the new Transformers Movie the less i want to see it, mind you to me the only good things bout the new movie are the fact that Peter Cullen(80's voice) is Voicing Optimus Prime and a small possibity of Frank Welker(80's voice) Playing Megatron. i really hate the idea of Mike Bay directing and the look of the Transformers themselves, hell if the Movie figures look bad, i dread to think how the movie will turn out

I somehow have a feeling that no matter what critical reception ends up like, it won't match the ire that Rakshasa will have for it (she's a ridiculously sharp-line advocate of the G1 Decepticons--even going so far as to regard them as the true heroes...).

I think I'm gonna rather be in a minority here, judging by the other comments on this thread....

BTW, although I was the right age, I never got exposed to the TV series, as Mum didn't think it was the "right sort of thing" for a girl to watch..I remember the theme tune but not much else...

Then another (suspected aspie) friend of mine watched it and raved about how goosd it was..i was too busy and it passed me by.

2 weeks ago, I went to see it at the IMAX.....I am now MAJORLY OBSESSED!

Put it this way....I have only ever felt THIS obsessed once before.....when I was 19 and watched Jurassic Park. I'd never felt like that before, and was beginning to think I never would be again...but I DO! It's part scary, but LOVE the buzz it gives me! I am SOOOOOOO excioteable about it at the moment.

I just LOVED it!

Well, you've also actually gone and seen it as well. Everyone else who was just dissing it probably saw it, loved it, and they're still too cool to admit it - maybe because they weren't the first to get the scoop or start the thread (yeah, maybe that's a bit too cynical right now but I'm starting to notice even more what smells for sure like jedi-nerd elitism around here...)

The transformers movie will no doubt spawn a sequel, which is likely to be better than the first, simply because it wont have to get so caught up in explaining what they are etc etc. Bit like X-men.

Starscream wasnt seditious enough for my tastes, and the machines themselves were a touch too complex to the eye. It wasnt always clear enough what limb was doing what and where, due to the ludicrous amount of detailing.

Still, you cant really fault giant robots kicking the smeg out of each other for 2 hours, and the whole "girl in his room" scene was fantastic.
