I remember seeing this in the 8th grade.

I have the VHS of it around somewhere. Orginal movie poster & a cardboard promotional cutout in the attic buried behind other movie & theatre stuff.

I took my wife to it when it came out. We enjoyed it, but think we only rewatched it a few times.

An other awesome animation from back then was The Secret of Nimh.

I really liked this movie aswell, it would be one of the movies I would watch over and over again. I used to be scared at certain parts, I think that Tim Curry's job at the bad guy was cool. Avatar probably took themes from this movie.

love 'em both... had the VHS of Ferngully but lost it when we moved back to the city in '99 but found them both last winter when I had a job when Sam's club still existed here in Canada. Bought The Secret of N.I.M.H. soundtrack off iTunes totally love the song Flying Dreams Lullaby Also limewired some songs from Fern Gully, Batty Rap makes me laugh every time I hear it. I love Robin Williams. On a slight off tangent has anyone seen his HBO special Weapons of Self Destruction?

I always thought the fairy (Crysta?) looked weird, not cute like you would think a fairly in a loincloth should look.

This is how she should have looked (subtle changes make a world of difference):

Yeah, I've heard of "The Secret of NIMH", it's one of my favorite movies, too.

For some reason, this is the only part of this movie that I remember:

This is one of two things that I believe has scarred me for life. Ferngully scares me more than any horror movie ever has, more than playing FEAR, Resident Evil, Doom, etc.

I'll watch it with a girlfriend just to face my fears (often to their disappointment because I don't act very scared).

I have seen this movie a few times in the past but not enough to be one of my favourites. Even in crappy movies Robin Williams is still funny as hell.

Big Lipped Alligator Moment.
