Recent one that comes to mind: Ben Hur

It's probably not the worst I've seen, and there were parts I liked such as the chariot with the blades in the axle. However, the whole premise of blaming leprosy on the Romans and having all one's problems evaporate upon finding religion, seemed a little too Deus ex Machina. It didn't make sense.
