Seriously, why? After the eighties ended, virtually everyone started viewing her as a cinematic scourge. Sure, 99% percent of her catalogue is more painful than the torture scene from Lars Von Trier's Antichrist, but when you get down to it, she was a fine actress who made the wrong choices at the wrong time.

I wasn't aware that everyone hated Molly Ringwald. I thought she was a fine teenage actress, but that didn't necessarily mean that she would make a smooth transition into adult roles (which she apparently didn't).

I think that Ms. Ringwald dropped out of acting for a few years in the 90s to live in France, and that's when her career lost momentum, though it had been slipping anyway.

VH1 certainly wasn't hating on her when they named her the top teen star of ALL time! She's an icon!

I actually worship her like a goddess! I've even developed a few Chuck Norris-esque Facts about her, just for fun. It just seems there is an undue amount of animosity towards her by most of what I've seen on the Net (look her up on IMDB and I'll show you about a million trolls). About her career: she seems to have been banished to a B to D-grade equivalent of the Phantom Zone.

It'd be awesome if she made a cinematic comeback, but that is highly unlikely given that she currently has three children.

I love Molly Ringwald. Can't go wrong with The Breakfast Club.

I'd say For Keeps. I haven't seen much of it, but from that small amount, I'd say it would fit very nicely on a DVD shelf next to The Room. Seriously, I just compared a Molly Ringwald movie to The Room, and for good reason: plot holes, glaring production goofs and a performance from Ringwald so bizarre, you'd think she was an alien ("God, why can't you just be my mother?"). Her acting abilities are just plain unusual; look at this "emotional" moment from The Secret Life:

Priceless.

She got her start on the Facts of Life, but she was only on there the first season.

Her name is actually Molly Ringworm, and she attacks people with her puke ray.

Was that a joke?

I think Molly looked better as a teen. I quite like her in the John Hughes movies.

Looks don't matter to me.
