Shakes The Clown—It’s billed as the Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies, but if there were any justice in the world, CitizenKane would be billed as the Shakes The Clown of non-alcoholic, non-clown movies… 8)

I think "Miller's Crossing" by the Coen Brothers is fairly under rated. I know that I hated the film when I first saw it, but a few years later, decided to watch it again and it ended up being one of my favorite films by them. Oddly enough, I had the same reaction to "The Big Lebowski" and that is my all time favorite Coen Bros. film.

"Miller's Crossing" has a complex plot with numerous characters with shifting allegiances. This makes the story rather hard to follow. Also the fact that the main character is so emotionally reserved that he may be an Aspie puts a lot of people off. On the surface, it's a lushly art directed period gangser film, but underneath, it's a story about the nature of friendship and loyalty and the conflicts of reason and emotion.

A few movies that I think really haven't received their due:

Roger Dodger

The World's Fastest Indian

Frenzy (one of Alfred Hitchcock's last films and my all-time favorite)

The Day of the Jackal (a classic 1973 thriller that has kind of fallen through the cracks)

Sky Captain And The World of Tomorrow

It would have been better without Law and Paltrow, but the art direction was amazing!! !

PCU. Jeremy Piven, Jon Favreau. David Spade. A Cameo by George Clinton and the P-funk. Fantastic little film. Just fantastic.
