Just saw a 10 am screening and it was sold out...absolutely awsome for what it was. Any other people see it and their reactions?

I found out the other day that the radio controlled model helicarrier used in filming was controlled with software I helped to write. My little claim to fame :D

I saw the avengers myself and i was surprised with the sky opening up in deep space. pretty

interesting how Iron man was able to go back down to earth in time. i guess if he didn't, the

chances of that would be the movie would be pretty sad.

I liked it very much. Then again, I'm a big nerd, so it's no surprise that I liked it. I want to see it again.

I saw it yesterday. I liked it overall, although I thought that the middle portion was a bit messy.

Also, it isn't really the film's fault, but I had a very hard time believing that Black Widow and Hawkeye were important members of the team. Batman can be a believable member of the Justice League, because he runs the tech and does the detective work. But what does Black Widow bring to the Avengers, really? She can fire handguns and kick people more effectively than the average person?

Well, She is able to get info from people easy. That was shown. Its not always all about fighting.

That's a fair point. I don't think that I explained myself very well, actually. I acknowledge that an organisation can have superhumans in it and still benefit from the addition of normal humans with specialised skill sets. My problem is that you would expect that such an organisation would have a certain structure to it, where "master interrogators" are used for interrogating, and aren't just thrown into a battle against an extraterrestrial army so that they can maybe help out demigods and mechs.

It sort of reminded me of Dragonball Z, where they always had to think up something for Krillin to be doing while he was standing uselessly on the edge of battle.

When I see each of the characters I don't necessarily see their superhuman/demi-god powers...I see the USE of those powers for a particular task. Everyone on the Avengers serves a usefull purpose when uniting against a common enemy...Hulk is a Tank..he is brute strength. Hawkeye is a sniper..he reconnisances( sp) from afar and picks out weak points of the enemy. Iron Man is like a fighter jet/drone...he is technologically adept and has the gadets with money. Thor is like a Marine..he is about stength and honor. Captain America would be your General...he is about leadership and command. Lastly...to get your point on Black Widows purpose..she is the master spy..wars are often won behind the scenes by those that go undercover and get critical information needed to fight the actual wars...that is her purpose...after she gets the information, she and hawkeye act as the rear guard for the rest of the Avengers..picking off those enemies who fell through the cracks.
