This one is obvious, what TV series deserves a reboot for the 21st century.
----
Magnum, P.I. and L.A. Law are two that come to mind. :)

Dark Shadows

It was revived in 1991* and they did a wonderful job with it, but just as it premiered the first Gulf War broke out and the media was consumed with video game war coverage, so it kept getting moved around and preempted so often no one could follow it and it got canceled after one season without ever having a chance to build an audience.

Given the popularity of 'Twilight', I can't imagine why no one has snatched the DS franchise up yet, it's perfectly suited to that audience. Tho I notice the new 'Dracula' series on Fox is using the 'vampire seeking a blood serum to help control his addiction' storyline in the promos, which is a direct ripoff of 'Dark Shadows' that was already appropriated for 'Blade.'

I haven't seen the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp version, but I don't really want to. Having grown up with the original show, I realize that it may seem a bit dated and hokey today, due to it's low budget and rushed daily shooting schedule and the fact that it was live TV, but to those of us who loved it as kids, it was cool as hell to have a show on every day with vampires, ghosts, witches and werewolves in it and I'm rather insulted Burton turned it into a farcical comedy.

I'd really love to see a new take on Time Trax, especially since the original only ran for 2 seasons. The idea of a police officer "knowing he can never go home until he's found them all" is very compelling.

Here's the opening of the classic series, for those who don't know...

Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman. Technically, the new cop drama Almost Human is like those already so maybe not.

My Hero, the British comedy. It's one of my favorites. But they should only reboot it if they can get Ardal O'Hanlon back as Thermoman. He kind of made the show.

What do you mean by "reboot"?

Logically, that would be a series that is currently in production but that needs to be restarted. For example, you could say that Mission Impossible was rebooted when it was in production when they ended the first few seasons of dealing with international issues and began the next season dealing with organized crime while mostly keeping the same actors and types of plots.

On the other hand, it could mean bringing an old series back true to the same characters as before, preferably with the same actors playing the same characters (not likely to be possible for older series) and developing plots along the same line as before.

What we have seen in cases like Hawaii 5-0 is the creation of a derivative series with new actors, different plots, and different emphasis. I really liked the original Hawaii 5-0 and looked forward to the current Hawaii 5-0 when I heard about it. But the new series is exceedingly boring, something the original series was not. It didn't take long to decide that it doesn't even compare to the original and that it has nothing worth watching. I'd hardly call this a "reboot".

By the way, have you ever noticed that when movies are remade to fit the times, they are nearly always incredibly dumbed down and are not worth watching? For example, there was That Darn Cat and Sabrina (the remake of Sabrina was at least tolerable). It's like the directors know that they can never live up to the original and so they just stupify it instead. It has got to the point that when an old movie that I liked is remade, I'm not the least interested in watching it.

I can't believe that they haven't rebooted "Max Headroom" yet, now that they could really computer animate him. (In the 80s series, he was an actor in a rubber wig.)

They could actually do that one as occurring in the present time.

Speaking of modern computer graphics, that could make a live-action 'Jetsons' possible.
That might be rather interesting.

I'd also like to see Quantum Leap rebooted for the 21st century.

It's been a long time, how about a new Gilligan's Island?

Or how about "That 90's show", with all the same characters & actors, just 10 years after it left off.

Or maybe a new Black Adder, not sure what time period set it in though.

Love the idea of My Hero and Blackadder coming back. Also, the Six Million Dollar Man sounds interesting. That show was before I was born, so I've never seen it.

Millennium. Let's bring back Frank Black. Last we saw him, he was driving off into the sunset. He must have been doing something for these last 14 years!

Police Squad. Only had 6 episodes as it was ahead of its time. For example it had no laugh tracks. Would do a lot better later on now.
