It took 8 years, but south park is going to be syndicated this fall. I just saw a 30 second spot for it on a local station.

I wonder how there going to sanitize it for syndication...

I read about it last year.

The Sh*t episode "IT Hits The Fan" will not be part of it.

Mr. Hankey The Christmas Poo will not be part of it.

Any swear words that you are not allowd to say on regular TV that you CAN say on cable will not be part of it.

Anything considered vulger by the Federal Communications Comission=not part of it.

The show will continue to air on Comedy Central as usual. No changes there. The second half of Season 9 starts in October.

Locally, it will run on WMLW-CA (41) Milwaukee and WCIU-TV (26) Chicago. Apparently, it will also air nationally on UPN.

All I can say is, I'm happy that my favorite show in the world is getting more exposure.

This probably isn't going to happen. If it did, they could fit all the series in one or two half-hours after the hacking and slashing ;-)

If they really did go through with it, Trey and Matt, being the pop culture buffs they are, should spoof the badly-dubbed over cursing when movies are seen on free TV. Which reminds me...check this thread out: http://board.deathvalleydriver.com/inde ... opic=39676

Funny memories...

Well I doubt it will happen here in Australia, as South Park screens on a channel (SBS) that has a programming policy to avoid editing their shows whenever possible. Which is how it should be.

It sucks that channel 10 edits many Simpsons episodes though, to fit in commercials. I've read the TV guidelines and they can show them in the PG zone, but they dont to fit in the ads. I wish I had pay TV but I don't. I have the first five seasons on DVD though, so I get to see them uncut.

Since I live in the deep South, I'm guessing it won't air here. I'm suprised it's even legal to watch Will and Grace in Alabama  . I have yet to see a commercial for the new South Park syndie reruns in my market. I only care to watch South Park if they make fun of John Elway and the Denver Broncos.

I finally saw an ad for the South Park syndicated reruns for my T.V. market last week. It will be on at 10:30 P.M. on my local WB affiliate.

I love South Park! But I think that it will have to be edited to go on syndicated TV. That's too bad.

Hey, I like shredded wheat!! At least if it's frosted :D

Anyhow, I'm definately going to have to check out the syndicated South Park episodes just out of curiosity. I'll admit that one of my strange obsessions is with how words are censored in songs on the radio and whatnot.

Some songs aren't censored at all and are played on the radio. I've heard of censored versions of certain songs, but my local classic rock station (WMGK Philadelphia) plays "Who Are You" (who the f*** are you,) "Jet Airliner" (funky s***,) and "Money" (BS) completely uncensored. There are also other songs I hear unedited on the radio that may be considred indecent, "The B**** is Back" being the most obvious one.

Yeah, I noticed that classic rock stations tend to play songs uncensored. The "B" word is generally considered acceptable on the radio, although it's usually edited out on rap songs.

Mikibasci! Your screen name looks familiar, think you're on my buddy list in fact.

So...curse words on the radio, huh? Yeah, I find the B-word gets by a lot..."Rich Girl" and "Bad Blood" are two "classic" songs that nonetheless get played intact on the oldies stations I listen to (or listened to, in the case of WCBS...#@(# you, Jack-FM, #$@* you :-)) And "The B**** is Back," don't hear it on the radio too much, but if you know who did the backing vocals, you know why it's of interest to me :-) :-)

Here's a funny one...New Jersey 101.5, during the holidays, used to include The Hannukah Song by Adam Sandler among the songs it played, and they lopped off the two lyrics near the end about certain bad habits you should partake in :-)

Now...how about songs that are edited for time? Most common cases I've seen include Light My Fire (cuts out nearly all the instrumental bridge, which is quite lengthy), Blinded By The Light (like two verses and the instrumental are gone), and Spill the Wine (No "I thought to myself...what could that mean?" verse. Weirdly enough, the Boogie Nights soundtrack uses this version). There's also Spinning Wheel, which has a 45 and (longer) 33 version anyway...some use one, others the other.

Back to the original topic, well, an article in next week's TV Guide has finally pretty much confirmed it for me. This issue, BTW, also included a short but nasty letter about Family Guy, and here we get into possibly Aspie territory, as that ended up bothering me a lot when I got home and read it, and nearly ruined everything I thought felt right about the day. Does anyone else find that little things like that stick in your head all too easily (I talked about this before in the general folder)? And does it make you worry about liking the things you like? If so, anyone got any advice on handling all that?
