Nothing spectacular but far better than the Beowulf films with Christopher Lambert and Ray Winstone. The 13th Warrior is still my favorite, though it barely counts as an adaptation.

Still need to see the TV series from last year.

I liked it when I picked up the Blu-ray a couple of years ago and I liked it even more this time. It deserves far better than it got from critics, and it's a shame that Universal's new monster series will pretend it never existed.

It's strange. I watched some old movie the other day and I can see the aged film and noticed that it was square screen format, but I can't remember the name or anything about it. I probably got bored and zoned out on another screen. Information overload has been a problem, lately.

I have noticed whole free channels popping up that show square screen movies. I guess the different versions are under different copyrights, and the square, low-rez ones are the cheapest. I don't really mind; I used to have a more expensive cable package, but the cheap channels and the access channels make me stop myself from cutting the cord.

I sometimes find a random old movie, like Rope, on such a channel, and it blows my mind.

I have also been up late, and have watched a variety of really old films on Classic Arts Showcase. It's that classical music show that runs in the middle of the night; the one where you wake up on the couch to a 1920 German barbershop quartet singing their version of Happy Days Are Here Again to b/w film clips.

I remember seeing this film online and I'll simply that it had elements of horror from psychological standpoint, esp the ending that's really weird!! !
