Hey I remember spotting that dvd at the 99cents store and gave it a go. Good lineup of actors but I don't remember much of the story. It was interesting seeing the Jurassic Park Aussie guy in another film.

He's the only good thing about it, sadly.

My copy came in one of those "50 movies for $10" DVD sets. Can't say I didn't get what I paid for.

Death Race 2050.

Updated remake of Death Race 2000. In the dystopian future, the masses are entertained by their totalitarian leaders of the United Corporations Of America with a death race, in which drivers with outlandish names and biographies score points by committing vehicular homicide. In his final race, the race's champion, Frankenstein, more machine than man, discovers his co-driver is not only a hot chick, but is also a part of the resistance, who is planning to assassinate him and all the other drivers on live TV. So terribly campy and cheesy that it's good, just like the original. Produced by the king of schlock, Roger Corman.

Sounds like a film I would love.

I liked this film as it had the same atmosphere that Saving Private Ryan did in a way

The original succeeded for me in a way that few in the genre did; it went completely over the top, rather than partway.
