Trains, Planes and Automobiles-Roger Ebert even named it one of his best films of the year,Candy and Martin were likeable, but the movie was a John Hughes hackfest

Top five list off the top of my head...

"Xanadu"--The worst "musical" I've ever seen. I really like Olivia and E.L.O, but the picture sent both downward.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the FIRST "Batman" with Joke Nicholson. Huge casting "misteak".

I also agree with those that mentioned "2001: Space Oddysey", although I'm a big fan of Deodato's theme cover.

As I have SPD, I would have to add "Air Force One" and just about every other fictitious hostage taking "action" film.

In addition I found "Risky Business" pretty stupid and never considered Cruise a serious actor since, despite "Rainman" which I tolerated.

Frozen. To be completely honest I hate everything about Frozen, it's more of a musical. The songs are annoying and the plot is weak. Kids like it because it has a goofy Snowman and catchy songs. I can't understand why they like such a terrible movie.

Disney classic animated cannon. Peoples (Particulary in the US it seem.) are in reverences toward them beside those movies been manichean, sexist (Much more so than the original fairy tales.) and very lacking in depth. Studio Ghibli is better than Disney has ever been on all those points.
I remember watching The Jungle Book when I was twelve and didn't finish the movie because it was boring; do anything happen in this movie!? (The 1989 anime serie of The Jungle Book is way better.) Granted I was only twelve, but I was bored from every Disney animated classic (Those before the 70s.) back then to the exception of The sowrd in the stone. More recently (About ten years ago.) I have seen a Dumbo scene in which it was only a joyful train (He was smilling...) getting it's merry way... It was minutes long with nothing happening and was very boring...What's the point of that scene!? Showing off the animation!? If today a movie director did that to show off the cgi everyone would hate his movie, and yet because it's a 40s Disney animated movie everyone is okay with it... Granted I only seen that scene, but it had putting me off the rest of the movie.

I kinds of agree with you on Frozen now that Disney has bulldozed an entire pavillion at Epcot for it.

Hugo, it was pretty boring for what they were saying in trailers

How to Train Your Dragon 2, (true dragon lovers would shun this series, there are no "dragons" in it, just abominations)

Update on Avatar, even Watch Mojo agrees with me, they called it "unoriginal"! !!

THIS is the movie that won Best Picture and Best Director? I'm sorry, I wasn't that impressed. I got lost through quite a bit of the story.

I completely agree! I saw this with my boyfriend and his friend and when we exited the theater they were both in awe, where as I was annoyed for having just wasted a few hours of my time. Much of it was boring, a few parts were way too cliche and predictable, it was anti-climatic and there wasn't a moral of the story.

Gravity was by far the worst overrated film I've seen. My boyfriend had already seen it twice and constantly begged me to watch it, even though each time I made it very clear I didn't want to. Finally he wore me down, because I was tired of arguing. I had already seen the trailer, and that alone made me feel panicky, but the movie was even worse because I loathed the character (she was a useless idiot who should have never been up there).

Avatar also come to mind.

Minions will be on its way to being one of the biggest overrated films of the decade. Everywhere I look, there's Minions souvenirs, Minions clothing, Minions underwear (!?) and on TV there's at least 3 commercials (trailer, McDonald's, Xfinity) that have the Minions in them. Sick of them already and I wouldn't see it in a theater even for free.

Working in retail, I also became sick of seeing Minions everywhere, as well as somewhat annoyed at the blatant retconning of their origin - I saw 'Despicable Me' once on TV several years ago and I could still tell you that Gru created the Minions, and now suddenly they've been around since the dawn of time? Boo!

However, a few weeks ago my store had a Minions event and it drew a bunch of small children who adore those little creatures, and that changed my attitude towards them. Minions aren't for someone like me, they're for the kids. If it makes kids happy, then I have no problem with it.

Yes I agree. The "Minion" franchise is sickening not to mention the half-ass films they produce.

To be fair, 'Despicable Me' was above-average. Not great, but it was cute and fun and a decent way to spend 90 minutes. I just don't think anyone expected the tsunami of aggressive marketing which is currently crashing down on us.

In my opinion it wasn't that great. Same ol'stereotypical movie. The cold hearted, lonely villain turns into a nice guy/girl seen it many times. It was a little boring, I've seen lots of movies like it, the Grinch is one.

I didn't really like it and it wasn't funny. However that's just me, I'm sure many others might like it.

I literally said it "wasn't great", so it's not like we're in any kind of disagreement. It wasn't groundbreaking, but it was okay for what it was. I can't help but feel the onslaught of Minion marketing we're experiencing right now is generating a lot of retrospective hatred for it, though.

Reminds me of when I saw 'Napoleon Dynamite' pretty much the first week it came out in wide release. I really enjoyed it, but as the months went on and it became a huge and oft-quoted cultural phenomenon, I just got sick of it and my opinion of the film quickly reversed. Overexposure can really do a lot to ruin a movie, and it's not even the movie's fault.

I didn't like Despicable Me either, for some reason it reminded me of the huge failure known as Shark Tale (though not nearly as awful). The comedy doesn't really get to me.
