It takes an awful lot to offend or upset me, but "Storytelling" managed to put me off watching any other films by Todd Solondz. I still like "Happiness" but I don't even like having "Storytelling" on my shelf of DVDs.

Dandy Dust.

Visually it's just uncomfortably weird. But the fact it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever offends my brain.

Now, Happiness certainly did give me the creeps, so it did. I have only seen it once but I suspect I'd probably like Solondz's other work if I'd like that.

How can I go through this thread and not see "Battle Royale" mentioned? That has to be one of the most offensive, psychologically bending movies I've ever seen.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that. I can't stand movies where kids are killed. I had some friends that praised that movie so much, so I decided to rent it. After the scene where the guy guns down the two girls on the hill, I had to walk out. My friend Travis was like, "dude! I can't believe you don't like it!" I said, "I can't believe you're not a psycho killer."

There's just nothing artistic about senseless violence. I'm not a person who is easily offended, but that film (what I saw of it) completely disgusted me. I also can't get into the SAW series. That stuff is just torture porn.

Bruno

That movie was pretty funny. I wasn't offended by it (that's just me, though). The part near the end where Bruno was in the wrestling-ring type thing making out with that other guy... when I frst saw that, I said to myself, "this is the first time I've seen this in a movie". Then again, I don't watch movies very often.

Nah, that's not particularly bad. There's an awful lot worse out there.

Some of the Japanese torture flicks, I'm told, would fit the bill. But I really don't want to watch stuff like that anyway.

From the tidbits of what I've seen of the movie A Serbian Film, the movie seems like it would be pretty disturbing.

 Are you serious!? Inception was one of the best movies of 2010. Personally, I enjoyed the movie. But I am not going to make you like it if you don't.

Inception wasn't offensive, but it sure felt rushed. They made it out to be some visual extravaganza, when it really wasn't. The Asian horror/fantasy film Re-Cycle was more visually appealing.

I find movies by David Lynch offensive and can not watch them.
Especially Eraserhead and Blue Velvet. I stopped watching after the first few scenes so I can't even say what they were about.

However, surrealism, as an art form is disturbing and meant to push emotional buttons to show things we do not like to look at but need to think about.

I loved Ali G and Borat, but Bruno just went WAY too far even for me! I can usually tolerate a bit of dodgy humour, but that just made me want to cry in confusion! I've not even got a problem with full frontal male/female nudity or homosexuality but I still winced a lot!

Most recently I walked out of 'Paul' because there was no decent humour and every single 'joke' seemed to be picking on homosexuals. I was with a carer who has two gay children (both grown up) and she was wincing as well! This is coming from someone who calls her own kids a p**f and a d**e! (just blanking in case I get told off!)

I was also offended by Salt because it was just non-stop violence from start to finish. I really don't like that sort of film!
