Some Homestuck Fan fiction. Characters in it(in case you don't read Homestuck or haven't gotten to Act 5 Act 1):
Image
Tavros:Shy and kinda cute troll. Pitiful and a little dorky. Will reach the epitome of pitiful later.
Image
Vriska:Bluh bluh, huge b***h.
Image
Aradia:Cheerful young lass currently, but later will...never mind.

Fan Fic:

Tavros had recently gotten to the age of three sweeps. He was extremely excited, but felt like something bad might happen: He didn’t know what but it.
Tavros then was talking to his friends online when Vriska, another troll, somehow came up behind him, asking, “do you know what time it is, Tavros?”
The troll boy answered, “uh...cake time?”
Vriska responded,“No! It’s....”, and then, with excessive ham, “TIME TO GET STRONGER!”
Tavros yelled,”uh-” but was cut short by Vriska’s fist hitting his face. It caused him to, while not be badly hurt, fall down. He then got up and and said,” can’t I first get my-” but was then delivered a second punch while Vriska yelled,”no weapons, Toreadork!”
The poor troll boy picked up a random item(one of his fiduspawn plushes) and threw it at Vriska, who was hit on the shoulder. She said, “innovative, Tavros. I must admit, that was...unexpected!” then she threw down an eight ball, which happened to contain...
“What.”
All that Vriska saw come out was a crappy jpeg “Sord.” Tavros then grabbed his lance and then charged at the troll girl. She then grabbed the weapon, slapped him across the face, and threw it to the side. She left then.
The boy got up and said to one of his friends, Aradia, that he had just gotten beaten up by Vriska. She told him that she was going to get back at her next sweep. Tavros said that maybe when something worse comes up involving the two, to get her back for that. Then he continued on with his birthday.

I first got into fanfic when I was 15 (my parents got the Internet at long last - they're technoslows and this was back in 2000) so it's been a good part of my life for 13 years now! Started with ER, since then have gone into Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean and now NCIS. I can see why people dislike it but I happen to really enjoy (some of) it. Yes, there's some really really REALLY badly-written stuff out there, and like a previous poster, you can often tell from the summary if it's going to be poorly-written.

One thing I love about fanfiction is that it's a great opportunity for people to explore characters and worlds further and more deeply, and it fascinates me to read other people's interpretations. I particularly like it for the complex characters, like Snape in Harry Potter and Kerry Weaver in ER. It's also interesting to see how people think things might progress following a cliffhanger of a season finale. Take the end of season 9 of NCIS, for example - what a season finale! I'm now scouring the TV listings to find out when in January FX (a channel) is going to start showing season 10 (they've only given the month) here in England.

Yes, I'll admit, my current Aspie obsession is NCIS (my boyfriend teases me about this from time to time!)

If anyone's interested in reading my stuff, you can find me on Fanfiction dot net under the same alias as here. Also, if anyone wants to discuss NCIS with me, feel free to PM!

I generally stick to Harry Potter fanfiction.

I have no idea what on earth lemons and limes are in regard to fan fiction, I know them as frighteningly sour fruits.

Why be ashamed to read and write in Fanfiction? I think it's a brilliant idea to have that sort of website around.

I am currently doing fan art of Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill. Does Fan Art count as Fan fic?

I read a lot of Beast Wars fan fiction, some are good, some are amateurish in places. I also (unashamedly) write a few stories that take place after certain episodes and introduce my own OC Maximal and Predacon characters that appear from stasis pods. But it is tough wracking your brain while picking a beast mode and a name for your characters.....

I used to read a lot of fanfiction, but I stopped for three main reasons:
- The majority of it is self-insert, romance, or sex, none of which I enjoy very much. It's also weird now that a lot of characters in my favorite fandoms are underage in comparison to me.
- I'm a hardass about proofreading and editing before showing your work to someone so that it reads like a real story, especially since there are many free word processors with useful features.
- I don't like investing time in unfinished works because they tend to stay unfinished. There's no worse feeling than never getting the last three chapters.

A lot of fan fiction sites have a tab where you can choose to view completed works only, for that reason. Some fandoms are worse than others as far as the immaturity/sex/bad editing go; it helps to find a few favorite authors..

I sometimes read fanfiction. What frequently bothers me about a lot of it (besides everything being about sex), is when the author doesn't really capture the "voice" of the character or when the character says something that is very, well, out of character.

teehee yes i do read fanfiction, quite a lot of it when i'm really into a fandom. i get annoyed easily though, especially when it's written with bad grammar, or the characters are extremely ooc. which is why i'm quite picky on them.

i read both slash and non-slash (i mean as long as they're a great looking couple why not?) and lemon/smut as well...:P i ship these things:
harry potter: draco/hermione
avengers: loki/tony, loki/black widow
sherlock: johnlock (but seriously who doesn't ship johnlock lol)
xmen (first class): charles/erik
game of thrones: daario/grey worm, daenerys/daario
i ship other stuff as well but these are the ones that interest me the most. no femslash though, bit weird for me. i also have a huge problem with m-preg because frankly...wtF WHY

i used to ship for anime as well but i stopped watching but here's a few i was obsessed with lol.
death note: L/light, Mello/Matt
vampire knight: shiki/rima
ouran: hikaru/kaoru/haruhi

i've written fanfiction only once though, and it was only for 2 chapters i think. was pretty awful imo, it was about my oc who was a slytherin and somehow james potter developed a crush on her even though he was a gryffindor and she hated him but...yeah i'm just not gonna continue anymore LOL. it was just bad.

if you ship any of the above and wanna discuss/fangirl pm me bros n__n

Currently obsessed with My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfiction, especially the "Human In Equestria" genre.

I don't write fanfics but I come up with ideas for them. Like a synopsis for an episode. Mostly The Twilight Zone, X-Files and Seinfeld.

I have been more or less hooked on fanfiction since 2007/2008. I normally stick to reading fanfiction based off of the cartoons I watched when I was younger; I have yet to contribute my own fan works because I’m too shy to join websites very quickly and I’m too busy – or at least I’m trying to get busy – preparing myself for getting a job.

I mostly avoid Alternate Universe fics, because many authors use the AU label as an excuse for making a story that’s contrived, disturbing or nonsensical. I'm not into romance-centric stories, since their mostly too mushy for me, but I usually look for stories with canonical pairings since those made the most sense in the source material; authors who make stories about different pairings frequently make the romance seem forced and unnatural. Some of my favorite fan works are crossovers between relatively compatible cartoons, ones with similar tones and such.

I also love to read and write fan fiction! :D

The fandoms I currently write for are Avatar: The Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra.

As for who I ship…well, let's just say after making my way through A:tLA and not having either of my couples get together (Zutara and Taang), I decided for the Legend of Korra that I was going to ship multiple couples. That way, I won't be that disappointed if a couple I ship doesn't get together in the end (though I admit, the couple I ship the hardest is Makorra).
