[b]Brave? Why? Oh, wait. I am not referring to John Travolta's version, I mean the one from 1996. That one was interesting. I hear the new one is a total flop.

I am sorry! My mistake

Nine

Not to be confused with the animated film 9. This was a live action musical, but it was forgettable.

Ghost Story.

1981 movie in which a college professor (and dead ringer for Bill Maher) receives a call from his distraught father that his twin brother had died after a fall from a window. There, he meets his father's friends, a group of frightened old men who regale one another with scary stories, and who all have been hiding a terrible secret. Soon, as the group of older men start dying, the professor tells them his ghost story, of falling in love with a mysterious woman who wants nothing more than to get married in his home town in front of his father and elderly friends. But as time passes, and she grows increasingly cold and strange, he breaks it off. Then she was gone, only to resurface with his then still living brother. The surviving old men realize they must come clean with the terrible thing they had all been involved with with this young woman... when they were young.
Pretty decent horror movie.

It is a pretty decent horror movie. Fred Astaire and John Houseman are in. I don't remember who else. And you're right, I know the actor your talking about. He is a dead ringer for Bill Maher. I think she, the ghost, has the line "Give me a kiss toad." I should look that movie up.

Unbreakable (2000)

I really enjoyed this movie. Despite the many critical hits he takes, I really like M. Night Shyamalan's films. The story and direction has an unique feel to them, like a story told around a camp fire. The twist is just icing on the cake. For me it does not have to "blow my mind" like in the Sixth Sense.

Samuel L Jackson and Bruce Willis are excellent.

Beat.

Re watched the movie about the two murders that ultimately defined the Beat literary movement. Staring Kiefer Sutherland as William Burroughs, Courtney Love as his addict wife Joan, Norman Reedus as Lucien Carr, Ron Livingston as Alan Ginsberg, and Kyle Secor as David Kammerer.
I have a thing for movies about writers.
