Biutiful - Spanish language drama. I gave it an 8 on IMDb mainly for the visuals of seeing a ghetto, desolate Barcelona we hardly see portrayed. The acting was good, too.

I forgot how hokey this film was.

I remember liking it as a kid.

not having read the book, I can only judge the movie superficially in terms of its presentation- a 6 out of 10. I found the monochrome sequences to be jarring, I would rather they were sepia or desaturated color. it did illustrate a key philosophical point, of people needing the bad in order to more fully appreciate the good.

The House Of The Long Shadows.

1970's horror film - - or is it? An American writer takes a bet with his British publisher that he can write an emotionally overblown novel in one night, and so has arrangements made to stay at a deserted Welsh manor. And then the weirdness starts. He finds a creepy old man and his middle aged, overly religious daughter claiming to be the caretakers there. Then even stranger company arrives as a wayfarer, and then a developer claiming to have purchased the house, as well as a bickering young couple. Then from there, the writer learns that these people are not who they claim to be, and that a psychopathic murderer who had been imprisoned in the house for 40 years is on the loose. Not really a great movie, but an inventive one with some surprising twists and turns. Starring now passed horror movie greats Peter Cushing, Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, and John Carradine.

King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword. Historical inaccuracies aside, this movie was worth every dime paid to see it. A mix of medieval legend and Lord Of The Rings, fantasy addicts will find something to like in it.
