Black Klansman

A crazy (often hard to watch) film from Spike Lee at his very best. Go see this as soon as you can but no more than once. Spike Lee and the cast deliver what you'll expect from this film and regardless of how many Spike Lee films you have watched.

Speed.
Keanu Reeves is great as is Dennis Hopper. Jeff Daniels is underrated in this film. He has a great part in Speed.

The Shallows

Meh. Didn't care for it. Then again, it was aimed for an audience who wouldn't necessarily have the wherewithal to realize how ridiculously preposterous most of those unbelievable scenes were.

The Foreigner

I liked it. Maybe I'll read the book it was based on someday.

The Town

I thought it was pretty good. Ben Affleck, IMHO, is both a good writer and director as he has demonstrated numerous times over the years.

This weekend I watched "Alone in Berlin". Very interesting film, especially as I love Berlin and also movies set during WW2.

Would You Rather.

Down-on-their-luck, desperate people are invited to the secluded mansion of a wealthy philanthropist (horror icon Jeffrey Combs) for the the chance of turning their lives around. Only when it's too late do they discover that the so called philanthropist is actually a sadist who makes them play a grim, homicidal version of "would you rather," where they are forced to choose life threatening choices for themselves and each other, pairing down their numbers till the winner is given the grant. Rather inventive psychological horror flick.
