Vice.

Story of Dick Cheney, the man who became the shadow government behind the W. Bush throne. Very intriguing movie. With the exception of how he loved his daughter, despite that she was gay, was the only redeeming characteristic of this heartless man (seriously, heartless - he ended up getting a new heart). The identity of the narrator turns out to be an unexpected surprise.

The Shape Of Water. A very beautiful, and unconventional, love story that I was fully invested in. God am I glad this movie won Best Picture. It was well deserved.

I was just talking with a coworker about this movie yesterday. It is a good one.

I concur.

I haven't read the book yet, but I'm willing to bet the movie is every bit as good as.

It sure is and IMO, one of the best Stephen King adaptations.

I agree.

Green Book

Refreshingly good. Tad slow in spots but overall definitely worth watching.

What are your opinions about the upcoming remake that is set for release in 2020?

I like the animated version. I am mildly looking forward to see how they do this.

All right, but I don't think it should have been the Best Picture winner.

Mouchette (1967)

Directed by Robert Bresson. About a socially and emotionally alienated teenage girl in rural France who comes to a sad end. Was she an aspie, I found myself wondering at one point.

Nadine Nortier, the lead actress, seems to have disappeared without trace after her appearance in this film, and I couldn't find any subsequent reference to her.

The film gained a reputation as a stark, insightful, quasi-poetic work of art, but I found it a bit of a chore to watch, even though it's just under 80 minutes. Might be worth a second chance though.....
